We came across this cafe for breakfast: it’s a really cute small business owned cafe, has a very warm homely feel. The staff was professional and pleasant. We ordered:

We were there on 25 Mar. 2023 – Perfect spot to stop on the way up past Kula to see the south side of Maui with views toward the Big Island! Great reuben sandwiches, lovely porch to sit in with breeze and birdsong. Sad that they close at 2pm as we wanted to come back for coffee and one the delectable looking goodies later on.

Came here for breakfast after Haleakala sunrise. Ordered the Loco Moco and it was good. Kids liked the hot chocolate.

It’s an ordinary breakfast place serve with American food. The girl at the counter recommended egg benedicts, and I took his recommendation. Egg benedicts was nothing special. If anything, the eggs were a little overcooked. Coffee was good. Be sure to sit outside and enjoy some sun. It’s worth stopping by to fill your stomach if you’re heading towards haleakala.

It’s breakfast time in Maui. Where ya going to eat? Wait in line for a hour to have brunch in Kihei? Or take the fabulously scenic hour long drive Upcountry to Grandma’s Coffee House? Go Upcountry!! Grandma’s is a comfy rustic cafe in Kulu with delicious breakfast and lunch options and home-baked goods galore! And no coffee house would be complete without fantastic coffee. If you’re really hungry, try the Loco Moco – unbridled deliciousness!!

This place was so good! We loved the breakfast here.. after visiting Haleakala for sunrise, we stopped at this cozy cafe. It’s a bit of a detour but totally worth the drive! The food was super yummy, fresh and the seasoning was on point. It was such a hearty breakfast and kept us full till dinner! Ofcourse we had shave ice in between :p

Been here a few times in the mid 2010’s, still really good and portions are massive. They ran out of Hamburg patties so we had Kalua pork loco mocos (which was the best Kalua pork on our recent trip), the mahi mahi was a little overcooked but the flavour was good. Excellent value for money and good taste.

Grandma’s Coffe House is kinda like going to your grandma’s house to eat. They have a great selection of food, pastries like cakes and you can also get Vegan food as well. They also have outside seating where you feel the nice breeze while you eat and look down the beautiful horizon from a deck. Basically, make a point to stop by here if you’re in the area and need to get good food or coffe.
