This is by far the worst so called Jamaican food I ever had (I am a Jamaican). I told them easy on the gravy. The pictures will speak for itself. I ordered a pineapple upside down cake and it tasted like someone put a slice of pineapple on a piece of cardboard.

I would have not known about this gem if it had not popped up on Doordash. Amazing quality food, as someone else commented, you can tell they put love into the food they are making. This may or may not be “authentic” Jamaican food but the food tasted like home cooked food and as a working parent, that is important to me. This area lacks restaurants offering quality food, I am so tired of throwing away horrible restaurant food no matter how much I pay for it. All the food I ordered from Grandpa Hank’s Jamaican Kitchen was made of quality ingredients and had enough flavor to get my picky kid to eat it. The portions are large and prices are super reasonable. I ordered the chicken wings (which came with rice and beans), the chicken breast (which came with rice and beans and cabbage) and plantains. Either of the chicken dinner entrees were enough to feed 2 people. The plantains were PERFECT!! Nice crust on the outside, soft on the inside, and NOT drenched in oil. Will definitely order from here on a regular basis.

I’m Jamaican, and can attest that Jamaican-food does not automatically mean “super spicy with pepper”. Curry Goat and Ox tail Stew are Jamaican staples. My order of these signature dishes was far below what’s expected. The meat was not tender, undercooked potatoes, tons of rice. If this restaurant can’t get these 2 dishes right — I have no hope for the rest of the menu. My first order is my last.

I’m from the Caribbean and know great island food when I see it, this food is not authentic Jamaican food! I ordered oxtail which is one of Jamaica’s signature dishes and it was not even seasoned Jamaican style, too much rice and drench in watery gravy, I had to send it back to separate the rice and meat. The oxtail here is not worth $24! Not going back!

The food was amazing. Oxtail is my favorite, it was so tender. Yuka with the sauce was to die for. The sauce was sweet and the yuka was crispy and soft in the middle. The beed patties were home made, you could tell. Thick flaky golden crust and spicy filling ❤️❤️

I’m usually not a harsh critic but this food was an absolute mess. I ordered curry goat and beef patties and neither of those things were remotely enjoyment. The coconut rice was basically rice porridge, it was so soggy and nasty and the goat was just ok. The patties were also not good at all, took 1 bite and that was it. A complete waste of money, I’ll never order from here again.

The food was actually really good like I was actually surprised because there’s not a lot of food Caribbean food in the DMV. I got the oxtail and rice. The oxtail portion is small tbh. The price for the food is 20 usd which isn’t bad for the DMV but elsewhere it’s expensive. Natalia was nice! Go try it!

Food was overcooked and blang. The goat curry had to many bones and was too spicy for me and the Jerk chicken was just bad all around. We Didn’t finish the food we just threw it out.
