WOW! Worth the drive and the time. Open only 2nd and 3rd Sundays 11:30am to 3pm right now – 11/15/20. I highly recommend the food. It does not disappoint.

Possibly the best soul food in texas is in a small Hempstead town the oxtails cooked perfectly tender succulent and falls off the bone gravy is thick the sides I had yams and broccoli casserole seasoned just right the only bad thing I have to say is I didn’t get the delicious looking banana pudding or peach cobbler and what makes this place even better all the ladies that work there so sweet nice and welcoming it’s what a small town “country”home cooking venue should be if you’re anywhere near Houston or Austin you should try it
