Local bar with pleasant service and usually quiet atmosphere. The fish sandwiches are the best in Pittsburgh. Huge portions. Tasty breadcrumb coating. Fried just right. Also the fried zucchini is best in Pittsburgh. Hand sliced. Dipped in parmesan/ bread crumbs. Fried just right. This is old time and authentic bar. Experience the real Pittsburgh in a safe neighborhood, and a friendly bar.

I went the first time with a group of nine. We were seated almost immediately to a table in the back room. The food came quickly and hot! The onion rings and fried zucchini appetizers were the best that I have ever had. But the most wonderful part was the fresh made coconut cream pie! The crust was amazing! It’s the best of ever eaten! If you oder nothing but the pie, you are sure to return.

We sat at the bar. The bartender, Amanda, was really great, providing exceptional service with a smile. She recommends making reservations on Monday afternoon.

If you happen to be in Millvale, Grant Bar is the go-to restaurant. All of the staff there are so friendly and the food is good and affordable. I especially love their coleslaw and coconut cream pie.

It’s seldom that I walk into a place that I’ve never been in in immediately have an opinion. My friend and I walked into Grant’s and a waitress literally screamed because we happened to be in the wrong space. We were actually two of a party of eight and we were there a bit early. Unfortunately she happened to be our waitress. We were eight ladies in our 70s and 80s and she treated us like we were little children. Unfortunately a lot of us in our early lives had been servers just like her. I have never seen a waitress literally yell at people but that’s exactly what happened at our table. We all discussed whether we would or would not tip this person instead of how good the food was. Being most of us over tippers, we were certain there was no way this girl was ever going to make even a 20% tip from us. Unlikely that I’m ever going to see the inside of that restaurant again.

Meh…got a lot of hype but really wasn’t impressed. It’s a staple here in Millvale and it is by no means bad but it’s not awesome like we were told by everyone. The fish sandwich was the most bland fish sandwich I’ve ever had. Literally tasted like nothing but it was cooked well and was a healthy portion. The price was way higher than it showed online too. Two sandwiches and one piece of pie cost us $40.00. That’s too much for what it was. Definitely won’t be going back here. Pretty big letdown. Sorry.

This place is a GEM! not crowded and if it is people are quick on both sides of the plate. Quality menu so much to choose from. The sandwiches make this an outstanding lunch spot! The servers are “pittsburgh friendly” love to chat answer questions run to the kitchen bring your food smile and take care of the next table! Felt like the diner atmosphere where you get great food super fast except this food is delicious as well as fast. Get there soon.
