Wonderful addition to Mackinac Island. This brewery has delicious cocktail options- painted turtle is a must! Their beer selection is awesome, we tried several using the flight option- they were each so good. Their food is also next level and the legendary chicken sandwich is exactly that! Dog friendly patio- Don’t skip this brewery !

This is a large restaurant, very well known on the island. It’s in a very well-known original hotel down by the waterfront. I sat at the bar which was nothing special, pretty much what you would expect. When you enter it from the side street you don’t really realize where you are. I think sitting somewhere else like out on the front patio on the street would be more exciting

Love this brewery and distillery! They had a sour cherry beer on tap, which was my favorite – we also were able to do a beer flight to try out other options as well. For dinner, we had the jalapeño corn dip with chips as an appetizer, very tasty, and definitely had a kick. Our main course was the Buffalo mac and cheese and a burger. Food came out extremely fast and the bartenders were very nice!

We had the Famous Great Turtle Wings in their signature Sweet BBQ sauce and they were amazing! We ordered them twice with a side of crispy fries. Our server Delaney was on point as well. We were seated immediately upon arrival. We’ll be returning when we come back to the island.

We had a great time here. There was a short wait for our table, but by the time we ordered a drink at the bar while we waited, our table was ready. They have lots of indoor seating and outside seating. Wait staff was very friendly. Food was good and huge portions.

Great Turtle Brewery & Distillery is the worst restaurant that we have tried on Mackinac Island, Michigan. The food is the quality of fast food at best. The prices are extremely overpriced. The employees are not trained at all. Go somewhere else. Don’t waste your time. We ordered a drink each, one appetizer and one entree each and our total bill was $120. The employees(waitresses) continued leaving the patio door open every time that they walked through it. It was in the 30’s outside and the cold wind was blowing in. I even got up and closed the door one time and their staff still didn’t get the hint to close the door. Again, go eat anywhere else on this island if you to enjoy your meal.
