Stopped by on a cold weeknight and was excited to try Griffin’s. Food came out really quickly and the waitress was delightful, gave recommendations and very attentive. I could see this being a haven for travelers who have been on the road for hours, especially with it being inside the gas station. Ordered the seafood gumbo, crab soup, green beans and blackened catfish. The food was hot and fresh, however a few things were noticeable—the gumbo tasted great, but the rice in the gumbo was undercooked and a bit tough, the cream of crab needs some more salt/flavoring and was essentially half and half with crab, greens felt very overcooked. I realize I also went an hour before closing and would be open to trying again—probably also should’ve just stuck to a po’boy. Overall food was good for an area with hardly any options outside of fast-food chains and I’d go again.

This place has good down home cooking! We had the shrimp stew which was on special every Friday! It’s very good and you should give it a try..Rayna was our server and she was absolutely wonderful and pleasant! We also had the bacon wrapped shrimp which were pretty good

Ordered a 12″ roast beef po boy today…..its mush and the bread isn’t even toasted….paid $18.00 plus a $5 tip…..huge disappointment

Rayna took very good care of us. We walked in about 20 minutes before they closed and she didn’t make us feel rushed at all, actually made us feel very welcomed. In addition, the food we had was fantastic. The bread pudding was amazing. My only regret is getting the bread putting before my food… I barely had any room to enjoy my poboy!

Driving through and found Griffin’s Louisiana grill come up on Google while searching for something local to eat. So glad we were persistent in finding them and called for their location. (Inside the shell station) if you want great food and great customer service you need to experience the Louisiana flavor!

Most of their food is good. I’ve had the platters and some of the daily specials but where they really shine is their Friday specials. The seafood gumbo with a side of potato salad is one of the best I’ve eaten in Louisiana. The staff is usually busy but with staff shortages all over Louisiana right now, they have found a good team of customer service oriented people. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is some flavors I am still getting used to and an example would be the Cajun cream sauce over pasta. Its good but I’m not quite there yet.

This place has gone down hill. Used to love eating here but after today I’m not sure I’ll be back. Today, i picked up at the window. Got the appetizer crab cakes and bayou burger with a side of onion rings. The crab cakes were alright but didn’t come with the dipping sauce that it was supposed to. The burger was flavorless! All the stuff that comes on it, ot should have tons of flavor but NONE. The onion rings they’re used to be my favorite. Again, no flavor just tasted like batter and no dipping sauce either. Its sad to see what used to be a great place serving this garbage. 30 dollars in the garbage!

Updated review 3/31/23 found out spinach dip was back on the menu so was excited to order. Ordered an extra serving of chips and salsa , didn’t give it to me… said they were out of sour cream when handing me the order ( would NOT have gotten it had they told me before I paid !) Total for bare minimum chips , cold spinach dip with huge chunks of artichoke and 3 salsas (asked for 2) and a sprite ( which they forgot also ) $15 SO WASNT WORTH IT!
