I live in Water Valley, and I enjoy taking the 15 minute scenic drive over to Grit in Taylor. The food and drinks are always fantastic. The staff is very friendly and willing to accommodate any of your needs. The restaurant has a great atmosphere with rotating art displays and a patio with a cozy fireplace. If you are dining alone or with a small group, I recommend sitting at the bar to eat. The bartenders always have great recommendations! If you go often enough, you might even get a drink named after you. 😉

Style over substance. Much of what we had made little sense to us. First, the good–the look is cute and our favorite things were the cocktails, which were really balanced. Now, the bad–everything else. We were excited to try after several recommendations from others over the past 2 years. Our waitress was very nice but not at all trained. She didn’t address the issues we had and only said sorry at the very end when she asked whether we’d be back after our first time and seemed surprised when we said no. No manager came over even though we had to send undercooked food back and they “fixed” the problem incorrectly. I’m not even sure there is a manager here.

Food was not my favorite. I ordered the chicken and waffles, and the chicken was so over cooked that I couldn’t bite it. Worst chicken and waffles that I’ve had.

Did not get what ordered. What husband did get was perhaps going for a beef burgundy but the sauce would have been better with lamb. The fried cauliflower was part raw as the pieces were cut to big. The presentation was excellent for the meal, the taste was not bad, but not what should be for price and ambience. This foodie was not impressed.

The best food I’ve had in a long time! You can tell that there is thought, detail, and love put into every aspect of your dining experience. The food is well balanced with high quality ingredients, the ambiance of the restaurant, the friendly service. The outdoor patio is perfect for winter (fire place, heaters, and individual blankets!). We ordered pork belly, charred cabbage, the burger, ice cream trio, and the Indian milk fritters, 10/10 on each one. If you’re in the area, don’t hesitate to go.

Excellent restaurant with a great service and very good menu. I had the brisket which was good -could have been more juicy – tagliolini alla puttanesca (good) and the Moroccan flatbread (known as mufleta, a Jewish Moroccan dessert for the end of Passover). Excellent meal. Families are welcomed but I had the impression other customers didn’t really like having children around.

Good food and beautiful atmosphere. The service was slow and I had to ask for a server after a wait.
