Been awhile, not that bad. It was quiet in the restaurant, which was nice after a long workday. We asked for the small cup of roasted peanuts. Started off with the loaded potato skin appetizer. They were really good and steaming hot. Then our main meal. I got the grilled salmon with a side salad and steamed veggies. Salmon was cooked to perfection. However, the sauce that was used was really tart, almost like a mustard taste. Not exactly what I remembered from previous visits. My husband got the chicken cordon blue wrap with fries. He was a little disappointed because it was supposed to have BBQ sauce, and he said there was hardly any on the wrap. Other than the sauce issues, the food was good as far as temperature goes. The waiter was very nice and attentive to our needs. I would have liked dessert, but I was a little full. Maybe next time.

I grew up loving Ground Pati in Kenner where I grew up. In Lafayette now and tried this one today. OMG the burger was exactly like I remember. Amazing burger. Totally underrated. My husband got the cordon blue sandwich and it was also amazing – so tender and flavorfully marinated. Awesome chili also. And they have a free party room and I scheduled an upcoming meeting for an organization I am involved with. We will be frequent customers.

Reminded my kids and me of a Gordan Ramsey bad restaurant episode. Took forever to be asked for our drink order and food. My daughter had appetizers as her meal and it came like 30 minutes after the main courses were delivered to everyone. Yes we were a group of 20 but there was only about 4 customers in the rest of the restaurant. About half didn’t eat more than a bite or two. A few got meals removed. I ate mine but wasn’t happy with it. Even the pickle tasted weird. Not one person ate theirs. Just disappointed in everything. Won’t be going back. If I’m driving way to Lafayette, I expect better quality food than my small town.

I miss Ground Pat’i. We were regular customers of the Johnston location when I was growing up here. I was never a fan of the new one and the original went downhill. Well I’m glad I went back to the one on Kaliste Saloom today. The burger was perfect. It tasted just like they did back in the day….fresh, handmade, and full of flavor. My Mom loved the Santa Fe Chicken salad too! The service was pleasant and efficient and we met the new owner. He’s a nice guy that says he is working on bringing it back to the old school experience. He’s doing a good job. Give it a shot, you won’t be disappointed.

The service was fair and typical for what I’ve experienced from many restaurants post pandemic, it seems hard to get good employees. They weren’t rude or mean, just average at their job. The food was good. They have a good selection of American fare and burgers seem to be their specialty. It isn’t the kind of place that I’d plan to go to on an evening out but if your out and about and need a quick bite it is not a bad choice.

I mainly had an issue with the food. While it ultimately tasted ok the whole point of “ground pati” is a fresh burger. This was 1000% a frozen patty. Also took issue with their being squirt bottles of mayo being left on tables with signs they were once cold, likely to be re-refrigerated again. When paying 14$ for a burger and fries I would have expected it stayed true to its advertising with literal meat grinders being part of their logo.

The service was ok! Food was amazing and always love the atmosphere! My kids asked if they did anything for birthday’s! She said she didn’t know and would ask! She never came back to say yes or no! She only had 2 tables, so she wasn’t busy! Whether they do something for birthday’s or not, she could have at least came say something!

Just walked in about 30 minutes ago. Stood in the door way for about 10 minutes and was never even acknowledged. So I walked right out. They had three staff members just standing around the bar not doing a damn thing. The restaurant was dead, so they can’t say they were just busy. I will never be back, unbelievable.
