This place is an experience and not for everyone. This was my first time here, but have heard amazing stories. I always wanted to try it.

I’ve heard about this place from Ocean City insiders for a few years so I figured I’d give it a try with my family. It has a very different. You need to call in advance to get a reservation and they only take cash. The exclusivity creates a desire to get chosen to dine there. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the high expectations and high price. My wife, brother and I ordered the lamb, scallops, pork, and filet mignon. All were ok but not insanely good and for $335 with tip we were all having a little buyers remorse. Not my favorite but some people love it. To each their own.

A unique, dining venue close to Ocean City that we have enjoyed for years. Reservations required. The nightly menu is always fabulous and caters to the exquisite palate. Personalized and intimate in an informal setting. Ideal for 4-6 guests who enjoy sharing a wonderful culinary experience. This time, we will rave about the lamb and scallops!

This is the place to go if you want arrogance with a side order of rude and obnoxious behavior. This is NOT the former Grove Market we locals all loved.

Really unique experience. There is no menu, the waitress will verbally describe each dish. The menu changes based on what’s available since everything is locally sourced. The decorations and ambiance makes you feel very at home. It’s good quality food but in a casual at home setting. Know they don’t take cards only cash, you need a reservation and it is very pricey. There is an ATM right outside, which is convenient. I really enjoyed my encrusted grouper and the fish pate. My husband loved his duck. I also loved my lobster tail and coconut pie. I would say if you’re up for a unique food experience go to this place!

What can I say, but don’t judge a book by its’ cover! The place my not have any wow factor outside, but the food and service on the inside are AMAZING!!!!!! You do usually need a reservation, as it is not a big place. What an experience/memory to make! The food is incredible. There are different specials every night. The wait staff verbally gives you the menu options. The food combinations are incredible. It is CASH ONLY. Don’t forget to tip well, because the wait staff are what makes it amazing as well!

Overall fantastic experience. Hostess, waitress, and kitchen all did a phenomenal job. We had our 19 month old daughter and asked during our reservation call if she was allowed and they said yes but no high chair or kids menu. We brought our own. We were greeted by our name as they know we had a child (indicative children are not usually their normal patrons). Everyone in the restaurant seemed ok with her presence and she was overall well behaved other than a couple high pitch yells due to excitement about the food. The lobster bisque was excellent and our daughter agreed with exclamation. The rockfish, halibut, and NY strip with Crab Imperial were fantastic. Only hiccup of the night was the party of 6 with the woman who made it abundantly clear our daughter was a nuisance with distinct glares and making rude remarks about our daughter loud enough for my family to hear without addressing us directly. Upon hearing this I promptly took my daughter outside with my wife, came in and addressed the situation. The woman was insistent she shouldn’t have to deal with this and we were ruining her dinner (meanwhile sitting next to her teenage daughter, I guess she had no life until this very moment). I walked away, took our dessert to go, and finished our last glasses of wine as a family outside (the outdoor seating accommodated us wonderfully for this). Overall it was a wonderful experience thwarted by an unpleasant blonde bob-cut harpy who had no happiness in her heart. I write this positive review as a defense of this establishment as she seemed like the type of cold blooded person to write this wonderful restaurant a bad review based on letting our family enjoy a nice meal at 5:00 pm on a Saturday.

Another amazing dinner! The crab dip was full of lump crab with bacon that was perfectly smoked! My scallops were sweet and salty and the piece of tuna was huge. Be sure to leave room for dessert! The bumbleberry pie is to die for. Make sure to take cash as it’s cash only. And a lot of cash because good food isn’t cheap and this place serves the best!

A sneaky culinary sensation. Call to make your reservation early and bring cash, The Grove is one of a kind.

My wife and I had heard really good reviews about this place and were really excited to try it out considering it was known for good tasting, fresh food. We knew coming in that the restaurant was cash only and had a very kitschy decor, so we weren’t fazed by that. At the end of the day, all my wife and I care about is that we eat fresh food that has a good taste. When we were served our entrees (bream fish stuffed with crab and swordfish) we were not impressed. First, the bream was covered in cheese, which was an odd choice and did not add any good flavor nor did it cover the slightly old flavor of the fish. Second, this entree was stuffed with slightly cooked green onions that became unbearable to eat after just a few bites. The swordfish came out ok, but we’ve had better swordfish at other places on the Eastern Shore and a side of mashed potatoes is an odd choice for a side with a fish entree. Overall, we were not impressed with the quality of the food as well as the total price (FYI- mystery prices until you receive your bill at the end) and will not be returning to the Grove.
