Despite being a busy local hangout, there is nothing to write home about this place. The burger is as absolutely generic as possible. The fries were under cooked without any flavor. The atmosphere was hit and noisy. Fry sauce was mayo with a little bit of ketchup poorly stirred together.

I had the pulled pork special and it was as mid as could get. Bland mashed meat on a less than exciting bun. The shoestring fries are the only thing that kept this from getting 2 stars. The hamburger my wife got was undercooked, pink and cold in the inside.

This place is like stepping into a time capsule from the 70s. I was told everything was original except for the fryer! Even the guy next to me was watching a football game from the 70s on his iPad. Can’t even make that up.

5 stars bc it embraces what it is and nothing more than that. I’ll start by saying the negative reviews on here need some expectation management. This is a local, hole in the wall bar and burger joint. And it’s awesome. Fries are divine (we ordered a large, hand for scale) and the burgers are cooked perfectly. Schooners are cold and add to the experience. The walls are littered with everything and anything under the sun and they have signs making it clear of the vibes. Best no frills burger joint in town.

Really cool little place. Great customer service, everyone is fun. They just call out your name for your order so keep an ear out. Burgers are good plenty good size. Drinks are big seriously. Fries are fries. But it’s a great place to get some good with friends or family.

I came in this week to kill some time while my cat was having an operation so I was a little stressed out. The atmosphere is amazing and helped me relax. The food was amazing. The staff are super friendly and funny. This is the burger joint to go to, none of this other corporate garbage. Note: no one is grumpy here but be prepared to have a sense of humor. If you can’t take it then get take out somewhere else. Of course I’ve been here many times before but also good to see again after all these years. I got a sticker I’m going to mail you guys. Keep up the great work!

Its a little (and I do mean little) bar first and foremost, that serves burgers and fries as their bar food. If you want a great burger, go to a burger joint, not a bar. Burger was good, but the bun was way to larger for the patty, which was over cooked. Fries were slightly under cooked. But if after you down a couple beers, I can see how people would think anything here was the best. The real menu was somewhere (never found it), but they took a small picture of the menu to hang next to the register. Otherwise you have to know what they have.

Now THIS is an establishment. Grumpy’s is a must if you like damn delicious burgers, the friendliest and sassiest (in the best way) staff, and downright authentic Ketchum vibes. We can for my birthday in February, brought my 2 year old nephew and had a roaring good time. 10 out of 5 stars for grumpys.
