Authentic and delicious every visit! The gumbo is spot on and the potato salad is the BEST! Shrimp Po Boy is one of my favorites, and how can one forget about the Daily Special! I’ve ordered several and always been phenomenal! Would highly recommend! Sharing photos of a daily special last December (Lobster tail). Great service and friendly and cheerful staff. Will not disappoint!

I can’t say enough about this fantastic restaurant. They bring authentic cajun cooking, quality ingredients, fast and friendly service, and more to the table. I’m pretty sure the chefs put love in everything they make and the owners really take pride in their work. They understand that feeding the community is an important job and they give it their all. I’ve tried a lot of things on the menu and never had something I didn’t like – everything has dimension and layers of flavor. Everything is seasoned to perfection.

I love this place and it’s the only option worth going to for cajun food in the area. I’ve yet to encounter a menu item that isn’t awesome. I usually get the gumbo or the seafood potato though. One of the coolest things about this place is that they have daily specials that are actually special. Almost every day there is something totally different to try. They do occasionally repeat a daily special they’ve had before, but that’s not a bad thing since some of them are amazing and would be great on the standard menu. I imagine some items are too much extra overhead to do literally every day. Their core menu is exceptional. Frankly, where a lot of restaurants go wrong is having way too many menu options to do any of them particularly well. I think they’ve got a good variety without being too little or too much. The photos are of the seafood potato and the daily special they had today, boudin balls. Holy moly, those suckers are filling. I’ve never had to wait longer than about ten or fifteen minutes for my order while dining inside either. Their sweet tea is also good, which I can’t say for every place around here.

Alton NEEDED their presence and their amazing food. The traditional gumbo, cornbread, red beans and rice, unicorn cookies, and strawberry crunch cake pictured were so amazing I wished I would have bought more. The food here TASTES like it was made with love and experience! They have daily specials and are always bringing new food to their customers! Ordering is easy, the food comes out quickly, the prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly, the ownership is amazing, I cannot say enough good things! Try them out, I promise you will not regret it.

Let me tell you, don’t do what I did. I drove by this place for a couple months, not knowing it was open. It looked like a shuttered restaurant, so I never checked it out. Then as Mardi Gras approached, I heard buzz about how good their cajun food is. So I knew I had to check them out.

It was good, Gumbo, but the stuffed cabbage was absolutely delicious. Not cheap or fancy, just good.

Small but mighty! They just recently began serving food all day, starting with beignets and biscuits and gravy for breakfast and going all the way up through to dinner. The food is fresh, made when you order it, and as authentic as if you were down on the bayou. The crab cakes are my favorite, but the jambalaya and gumbo are also very good. Make sure you save room for dessert because their crunch cakes and banana pudding are like nothing you’ve ever had. Alton is very lucky to have a small, locally owned business run by owners that have a genuine drive to make their customers feel welcome and happy. This place is a gem!

First time dining and the food was excellent! Very well seasoned without being overly spicy. Staff was very friendly and when having to wait for fresh cut wedges even threw in a couple free hushpuppies. Will definitely be back!

First time here and I brought my out-of-town friend to check out if the reviews were legit. They absolutely are. I can’t say enough good things about Kyndra. Not only did she let me sample the dishes, but she was unwaveringly patient with my friend and I as we kept changing our minds on what to get. She was amazingly friendly, incredibly personable and you can tell she truly loves bringing amazing food to the community. She even threw in a portion of gumbo, when my friend couldn’t decide between that and the seafood nachos. Spoiler alert: they were both fantastic, everything was! We will absolutely be coming back for more.
