Gunselman’s Tavern has been The Public House in Fairview Park for 83 years. Recent renovations include new floor and ceiling in the bar, refurbished 100 year old mahoghany bartop, a brick patio, refurbished original barstools, updated air conditioning and clean, new bathrooms. Gunselman’s Kitchen has reopened for the first time since 1959 serving a classic bar menu and comfort food recipes. All inspired by American big family home cooking.

I stopped in for the first time last Friday after hearing so much about how they had the best burger in town. I ordered the Plain Jane with Blue Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion. It was a ten dollar burger right out the gate and cheese was an additional dollar. Worth every damn penny and I knew it from the first bite I was in for one hell of a burger. Jeremy is making magic back there in the kitchen . The fries were amazing in their own right, the right combination of crispy on the outside and softer towards the middle without being overly greasy by any means.

We ordered a Reuben and a Philly Cheesesteak and both were as good as it gets. Served with a large portion of excellent fries neither of us could finish. The service was excellent and the facility is spotless. We’ll be back but we’ll probably just share something since the portions re so large.

Order was late only to find it had been sitting under a warmer for 15 minutes and the check out person hadn’t looked. Stuffed cabbage pierogis were a pile of mush, fish was greasy and very small pieces and the substituted salad was not in the bag when we got home. Cabbage and noodles with kielbasa had almost no cabbage and little kielbasa and the noodles were burned on the edges, cold and no flavor.

Ordered last week during lunch for me and my boyfriend. Food was great, nice and hot when we got home and we live a good 15 mins away. Love the drive thru, it’s very convenient when you’re working and need to get back to work quickly. Had the buffalo Mac and cheese and my boyfriend got a burger. Everything was good, mac and cheese a lot better than most of the places in the area. The burger was cooked to perfection and the fries were still warm and crispy when we got home. Will be back!

They offer a wide range of delicious and high-quality food items that are perfect for a quick meal on the go or a satisfying snack. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Not a bad experience. The ethnic sausages were tasty. Only real disappointment were the truffle rosemary fries. The closest to a truffle these seem to have gotten would be if the pig from some other food product in the kitchen once sniffed one in life. No rosemary either. If I didn’t know any better I would have said I didn’t get them and instead got fries with either oil or butter on them by mistake.

Have ordered here a few times. The food is really good. The accuracy isn’t. Had a few burgers ordered med/rare, but were well done. Also skipped the burger fixings even though I clicked on them in the online ordering. Maybe it’s a glitch with that system? Tried calling, got a recording.
