Great dogs, Birmingham staple. The kraut and the special sauce hot dog is phenomenal. I could smash like 5 of them no problem. The beef special dog is basically like the original dog with kraut, mustard and the sauce with the addition of ground beef on top. Soooo good!! Lastly the chili cheese dog is quintessentially American in a food. Classic. Environment is a tight space but you wouldn’t want it any other way. The service was friendly and prompt. This is a must stop in Birmingham.

We’ve been eating here about 10 years and can honestly say I r never had a bad meal! It’s a modest, un assuming ,NOT fancy tiny place w picnic tables inside . They’re always busy for a reason, the prices are the lowest for miles around ( I don’t see how they pay the rent ) super good chili dogs and burgers and they’re NICE!

Gus’s Hot Dogs is a Crestline Classic. Not only do they have great customer service, but phenomenal food that makes you feel at a local diner. I suggest you go before noon and get a sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit(they are sincerely the best you will ever have, I’ve been here for years and they’ve only messed it up once or twice). Obviously there is room for human error but they are nice people and happy to help. Anyone that dislikes Gus’s is either a competitor or stupid.
