Walk into a Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken, and you’ll find walls adorned with vintage and neon signs, beloved classics humming in the jukebox, tables covered in blue and red checkerboard, and plates full of some of the very best fried chicken you’ve ever tasted. Our chicken, prepared using a recipe developed over sixty years ago by the Bonner family, offers the confounding combination of perfectly crispy skin and wonderfully juicy and tender meat. Additionally, our spices offer a kick without ever overwhelming your senses. All plates are served with beans and coleslaw, but feel free to substitute those with any of our sides, all of which are prepared in house daily. The chicken is the star of this show. You don’t go here for the sides. The sides are just adequate. I ordered beans and mac and cheese. The chicken was phenomenal! The place smells like chicken from the parking lot. When you take that first savory bite the juices leave a subtle burn on your lips. My server, Danny was excellent and very personable. Glad I made the trek for this awesome chicken! Definitely better than driving to Memphis.

I’m really picky when it comes to fried chicken, I don’t just settle for mediocre. I have to say we were really impressed with Gus’s chicken. The dining room was open and airy with a fun mix of songs playing in the background. First we tried the fried green tomatoes, they were cook perfectly. Crunchy on the outside, not greasy, with creamy ranch to dip them in. I had soda while my husband had beer, the drinks were really cold. We both tried the 4 piece chicken tender dinner. The chicken was perfect, crunchy on the outside, hot and juicy inside. The sides were good too, I especially like the mac and cheese. We finished off with some pie. I’ll be honest, first impression they were not pretty slices, lol. Omg though, the pecan pie was the best pecan pie I ever ate in my life!!!! My husband tried the coconut pie, it was so good, he’s still talking about it several days later. It’s not the fanciest restaurant in the world but the service was super friendly and has great food that’s worth every penny. We will definitely be going back (and we’ll be getting whole pies next time!!)

First time coming here! This is a real gem! The best fried chicken I’ve ever had in my life! Great service! Affordable compared to the rampant inflation we see on daily basis. Fast food cost $13-15 for a value meal. You can have a nice dinner here for that at a sit-down restaurant.

We arrived and were seated immediately. Got our drinks fairly quickThe place was not that busy. It took a long time for our food to come out, but it was hot and tasted good. Also took a while to get our bill for whatever reason. Catfish special was good. Chicken was hot and spicy as advertised…I enjoyed it but I think I prefer my chicken not as spicy. Sweet tea was spot on! Plenty of parking available.

Gus’s is excellent chicken, but it will also ruin you for all other fried green tomatoes. Soggy in the middle and crispy on the outside. The fried pickles are also amazing, as are the pies. There’s really nothing bad on the menu, but these items are my family’s absolute favorites.
