Definitely a fan of this place.. they get their bread from Hudson Bread Co delivered daily. Christmas Eve they have a good selection of fish dishes to choose from. People who work there are super friendly. Love coming here when I’m visiting this area.

Back up to NJ to visit family after moving out of the area year ago. Was looking forward to some good rolls and cold cuts for sandwiches. First, I put up with the abrasive manner of the guy slicing the cold cuts…husband thought it was the owner since he was busy yelling at the other employees in between being short and curt with me. Chalked it up to the NJ/NY attitude. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a Jersey girl so am quite used to it! However he was down right rude. Melissa at the front counter was kind and helpful, packing me up 7 Kaiser rolls and getting me some fresh mozzarella from the deli counter (since the slicer clearly had a hard time handling the multitasking). I was excited to sit down and have a good sandwich. However unpacking everything, the rolls were VERY hard and stale! Was upset and ticked, drove from Whiting to pick these up and so it was a complete waste of time. Could have gotten better rolls at WaWa or shoprite. Called the store and spoke with manager or owner?? She was rude and obnoxious. Her response before I was even able to ask for a refund was “they’re hard rolls, they’re supposed to be hard, that’s why they’re called hard rolls”. “We get them in at 8 am fresh every day.” Ok they are hard rolls and you get them in fresh. That doesn’t mean they should be stale, chalky and crunchy at 12:30. These are NOT hard rolls! These are STALE rolls. If she had just said “sorry ma’am we fortunately are not able to take them back or refund”, I would have said ok nothing ventured nothing gained. However the attitude was not costumer friendly and quite honestly, nasty! As others have said, stay clear of this place! They are not worth you giving them your business or money!

I asked her for rare roast beef on my sandwich it was well done there was so much mayonnaise on it when I squeezed it to spite into it all the meat came shooting out usually this place is very good I guess it was the end of the day the roll was hard as a rock I’ll never go there before it’s closing

They have the best of everything Italian. Everything is super fresh. Their bakery department has a lot to choose from and it’s all delicious. Tons of homemade dishes for lunch and dinner. Reasonably priced too.
