I must say ,everything we wanted from the menu they didn’t have,no ham,no chicken,no cobbler…very disappointing and then was told some of the stuff wasn’t supposed to be on the menu but it was..turkey was good what little of it we had was supposed to feed 4people on the 3meat deal…I don’t think so and had a coupon they said that they didn’t honor but their name was on it…oh well

Being 6 months pregnant and having a BBQ craving late at night almost made me cry, I was so happy to see H&J still open at 930p. The ladies are so nice, the food is absolutely delicious and the prices are FANTASTIC. I got myself 2 chopped beef sandwiches and a stuffed potato. Not an ounce of disappointment! Ordered the mix pound brisket and ribs. Ribs seriously melts off the bone. Brisket will fall apart. Drenched is so much sauce it’s heaven. Also ordered corn bread and it came with bread and beans.

Don’t go wasting your time. Wanted to feed my family some Good BBQ. I drove 20 minutes looking for a good bbq spot for old fashion slab of ribs. Came across H&J bbq I stopped. Place looks like it been abandoned and not taking care of. Still expected good food. Step in look like the outside dump! I see warning signs I still continue on and give the Benefit of Doubt. I ordered a Slab as mentioned. I was charged 35$. Not complaining about price. I paid was told the food will be bought outside. I waited close to an hour for food to be ready. While waiting had to use restroom no restroom available. Had to leave and go to Jack in the Box just to use restroom. Return. I went in to get food, finally ready. Made it home. Food was trash. Ribs tasted like they were boiled. Sauce was put on my Ribs watered downnnn! Trash… Don’t waste your time.

There used to be a BBQ restaurant in Wichita, KS named Rudy’s BBQ. H&J is reminiscent of this experience for us. Fall-off-the bone short ends, ranch-style beans, humongous smoked (baked) potatoes and melt-in-your-mouth fresh-cut fries. Sometimes you just have to go to undesirable neighborhoods to get the best hometown eats.
