Came here for a bite after getting off the train at New Hyde Park station. I was very pleasantly surprised with the place! The beef pho was so delicious as well as the vietnamese iced coffee (super strong). The Long Bay special banh mi was packed with meat and veggies.

Dinner was excellent at Ha Long Bay. Excellent customer service, all staff extremely kind, patient, helpful and respectful. Restaurant is spotless inside and out and menu is clear, concise and easy to navigate. I had the Pho with grilled chicken and it was delightful. Soup was hot and all ingredients were fresh and tasty. The plate of complimentary bean sprouts was generous and equally fresh. I also ordered a Vietnamese Iced Coffee and it was also delicious and fresh. Ample parking in lot behind restaurant or on street but you need to feed the meters until 7:00 pm and the Village of New Hyde Park aggressively enforces parking meter violations. This was my first time at Ha Long Bay and I definitely will be returning soon. Highly recommended.

Good pho overall and a little on the salter end. The pork and rice dish used a leaner cut of meat but was still delicious. The bahn mi are really good with a good amount of liver pate on the traditional sandwich.

Maybe I caught them on a bad day or time. I ordered Summer Roll (noodles, chopped iceberg lettuce and 3 shrimps sliced in half so essentially 1.5 shrimp(s)), shrimp spring rolls that was good. A beef pho (ok) and my pork chop over rice( my chops were very dark, dry and very tough,as if they microwaved it, the seasoning was alright, a little on the sweet side with no lemongrass flavors at all). The fries is 1 out of 10, burned and over salted. The banh mi, as a native Vietnamese is 3/10. Their breads are good, crunchy, sweet and sour carrot are okay. The paté inside the special is so so, dry. The only problem is the meat. I tried chicken, pork chop and special Ha Long bay, they all shared the same problem, too fatty, weird smell. They didn’t do a good job marinating the meat and made poor choice of ham.

Another hit for banh mi sandwiches but also other dishes. I stumbled across this spot when I read an article on my phone and just had to add it to a place to visit on my venture to discovering banh mi sandwiches. A new spot, you won’t find the name on the awning. It’s disguised as “Sweet Passion” but on the windows, you’ll see “Vietnamese sandwiches”. You’re at the right spot. Parking in the back and streets but considering it’s part of Long Island and they’re parking regulations aren’t as lenient, I would say park in the parking lot or have your driver wait for you on the street. Pricing: phew! It is pricier compared to other places I’ve visited BUT if you pay cash, it’s cheaper. I ordered on DoorDash so I’m not sure how the price would have differed if I paid with cash. To the food – delicious. Pork chops in both the rice vermicelli and over rice are well-marinated and flavorful. The sauce that comes with the pork chops is also good – not too sweet. The spring rolls are larger compared to other Vietnamese restaurants that sell the spring roll as an appetizer. The classic banh mi sandwich is also tasty. A lot of meat in the sandwich. I do wish the baguette was a little more crunchy though, but for $11, I’m paying for the meat. Owner is extremely nice. Be warned that the place is extremely busy though so do expect to wait for your food. That’s my only downside. Told the owner once he opens up his new spot in Great Neck, might want to consider the option to add over-easy egg on banh mi sandwich. So … I’ll be waiting for that.

I’m disappointed.. I was expecting alot of vegetables & more products in the bhan mi sandwich. They didn’t even use pickled daikon & used one small slice of cucumber in the sandwhich. The cilantro wasn’t crispy either. The jalopenio’s they put on side in small bag counted about 8 slices for two large bhan mi’s. The meat was chopped up small not even whole grilled pieces. I also asked for dipping sauces on side didnt get neither did i get napkins in the to go bag. Won’t try here again for the price i paid .. The bread was very good though.

Nice, new eatery, local , free parking in rear lot. Strange bathroom setup, you must go outside to rear door and come back in for bathroom usage.
