Nice place! This was an old hunting and fishing lodge, as I understand it. Now a fine dining restaurant. We just went for drinks and appetizers so I can’t speak of the full menu, but the calamari and white fish dip starters were excellent! I’ll be back for dinner during another visit to the area.

Love this place! The food is amazing and the ambiance is perfect for an up north upscale restaurant. The veiw of the Cheboygan river just make the dining experience that much better.

What a great place to have dinner! The building is snuggled under trees that are over 100 years old. The windows are large and you have great views of the river. The 6 people in our group all had excellent chef-level quality seafood dinners and we all loved them. Great atmosphere, fun server and wonderful food.

The food was very good. The atmosphere was very nice. Prices are high compared to the 90’s aesthetic of the restaurant, but they are worth it. They casual atmosphere and boat access do seem to lead to quite a rowdy crowd which is what lost it a star. That’s not their fault though. The veggies which didn’t have options seemed like an after thought to the mains and I would love to see more thought there. All in all I would visit again.

The best restaurant in Cheboygan! The food is always spectacular, outstanding wine and beverage list. Service is top shelf! The Hack-Ma-Tack is always our first choice when we have visitors or a special occasion…or a random night out! Thanks so much for your exquisite attention to all the details that make dining out worth it.

Classic northern Michigan fine dining. Tons of nostalgia and good food. There is nothing trendy or modern with their menu items, but that’s not the reason to eat here. Great prime rib and fresh whitefish are what they do best. It’s not an upscale highbrow type of restaurant, but an understated affluent type of place. You have a difficult time creating this type of atmosphere in any other restaurant; there is so much history associated with this place. The food is good too.

Up scale. Not run of the mill. Great atmosphere. Awesome food. Wonderful service. Be prepared for surprising desserts also. The small Prime Rib is larger than expected! The grill isn’t hot enough for the”Pittsburgh Style”, but the cook is top-notch and we were very satisfied. The Coconut Cream Pie is the best served anywhere. Come by Boat or car. Enjoy the experienc!

Great atmosphere and view. Friends LOVE the prime rib. Say it’s better than prime rib they can get in Texas.
