This was an amazing culinary and gastronomic adventure from start to finish. The talents and knowledge of the Staff, regarding both the prepared courses offered and the wine selections,were superb. Each of the 6 courses we had were prepared with not only forethought for the detailed combinations of the high quality proteins, vegetables, and other ingredients in mind, but also presented with culinary artistry. The wine pairings were so perfectly aligned with each dish to not just compliment the dish, but to elevate the flavors and experience. This was truly a remarkable food experience. Some others have commented on the physical space, but I found the dining room atmosphere to be pleasant, but close and intimate. The bathroom was eclectic, well organized, and a welcoming safe space. Do not get dissuaded by others comments about the size of their current space. This is most importantly about the food courses and the wine pairings. That they are able to produce the exceptional quality courses with pairings and detailed descriptions in a close and intimate space should make their accomplishments that much more impressive. It did for me. This is special destination for an exquisite culinary gift of an experience.

I’ve lived in NYC for 12 years and have been to hundreds of restaurants. I say that because it’s hard to surprise me, being as lucky as I have been to eat such amazing food. HAGS is a place that is perfect in every way. The food, incredible. Each dish more mind blowing then the last, incredibly fresh, inventive, and beautiful. The people are warm, kind, welcoming, generous, and thoughtful. I had something in my teeth and they brought me a toothpick on a tiny fancy tray, I didn’t even ask for it they just heard my struggle!!! It’s an experience from the minute you step through the door to the time you waddle out because you couldn’t stop eating every delicious bite.

I really love what the owners are doing here! they make the tasting menu accessible but keep the quality extremely high. the space is small but functional and welcoming, and the bathroom is awesome too. wine pairing is also a must. it’s a wonderful experience all around and a great community to support. I highly recommend!

A truly special meal this summer with staff that did an incredible job of caring for every person who walked in the door. Vegan options are on par with the omnivore tasting menu and the wine pairings are amazing as well! I love that they got me excited about trying foods I usually wouldn’t have touched. Also, a small detail- the funhouse mirrors in the bathroom are, well, really fun!

Simply not worth the money. I like what they’re trying to do, and the dishes were creative, but compared to other tasting menus and wine pairings, I believe it should be much more affordable. Charges almost the same for vegan and nonvegan. If you’re vegan, I recommend going to Dirt Candy instead.
