Haikan and Daikaya are the two best ramen spots in DC. They go back and forth in terms of my favorite and I tend to lean towards Haikan because it’s closer.

I love this place. We stopped in for lunch and had amazing service from Theresa. She was so helpful, kind and overall awesome. It was super chill which was awesome & allowed us to get out of the heat for a bit. The food came extremely fast and was BEYOND delicious. The crab Rangoon is out of this world? The sauce?! Yes please!!! We got the veggie ramen as well and it was delicious. I can’t wait to return!

Went to Haikan while waiting for 930 club to open to see Meg Myers. The good was freaking delicious. The little short girl uo front didn’t know where we could sit though. Made me slightly frustrated, but we got to sit at the Ramen bar and get noodle wasted.

Not as great as expected – Service was relatively slow. We ordered the fish tacos and the beef ramen (special of the day). The ramen was OK (not great), and the tacos were pretty bad. The music was fine at the beginning, but then they played some cumbias, I guess they were trying to close the restaurant.

I visited Haikan for the first time a few weeks ago. I gave it a chance because it’s apparently a sister restaurant to Daikaya, a favorite of mine.

A very good ramen place that I visited during my trip to DC. They have 3-4 vegetarian options in the place. The ramen was extremely savory and had the right amount of flavors. They give ramen in 2 potion sizes so you can choose based on your appetite. They apply a 20% gratuity on top of the bill if the party size is 6 or more. The ambience is good and the staff is extremely courteous and was very patient with our ramen customizations and also answered all our questions. Do visit the place.

The veggie (vegan) ramen was quite good, albeit a little too salty for my taste. Staff is quite rude and wants you out as soon as you empty your bowl (even if you have unfinished drinks), which doesn’t go well with the +22% service charge if you ask me.

Every time I come here, I’m reminded I need to go more often. If you can’t eat cilantro, be sure to ask which menu items have it because they failed to annotate that on the calamari. Otherwise the experience is good, the food is amazing. The staff are pleasant and timely with bringing your food out.

Solid ramen spot with a nice ambience. Spicy shoyu is the right amount of spice so be not afraid to order it. The pork belly appetizer is strange — hot pork belly (not crispy) with cold apple. Flavor wise it’s okay.

My go to neighborhood place for ramen happens to also serve stellar ramen! Like legit shoyu and when you order the egg, it’s soft and flavorful and not just a plain hard boiled egg thrown on top. I always order the spice bomb which adds a yummy kick and added flavor. My boyfriend loves the veggie ramen which I tried once and had to admit wasn’t too bad.
