We tried oysters, raw and chargrilled (sorry, we gobbled them down before I snapped a pic), fried green tomatoes with crab cakes, Royal Redfish and Redfish Orleans. Honestly, the menu is too big. We wanted to try everything. My only complaint is that I didn’t save room for dessert. The bananas foster cheesecake sounded amazing! And our waiter Clark was friendly and fun. Definitely a repeat while we are in town!

Our group of 4 had a wonderful time celebrating my wife’s birthday. Our server Cade was very knowledgeable of the menu and was very helpful as we guided through both the menu and our meal. The food was outstanding! All of the courses were brought out at the right times and were all prepared to the right temps. We would highly recommend eating at the Half Shell Oyster House – Lafayette.

We had a nice visit. I had some red snapper and it was a bit fishy tasting. My mom had the same and said hers was fine. I was happy she enjoyed hers. The chargrilled oysters can use more butter sauce. Many of ours didn’t have much. Server was pretty good. I find other restaurants are better for the same price.

We were there for Mother’s Day. We had a 30min wait which wasn’t bad for a holiday. The service and food was great. I had New Orleans style shrimp and grits with asparagus very delicious along with a tray of variety oysters in the half shell. Highly recommend. Not a very large place but comfortable and family friendly.
