Kenny Hamilton from Mississippi opened his BBQ pit here off of Alondra Blvd In Bellflower. Pre Covid this place was rocking and fresh; during and after Covid things have changed so it’s a 50/50 guess if you will like it or not. I haven’t been back since my last visit and I would usually go there quite a bit. Not sure what happened but definitely somethings off. Hopefully they can regain their previous glory.

Hambone’s is a popular BBQ joint in Bellflower owned and operated by pitmaster Kenny Hamilton who has come to Los Angeles via Mississippi. What drew me here was that this is one of the restaurants around south Los Angeles that sells what has become known as “black tacos,” which refer to tacos sold by black-owned businesses to predominantly black customers.

They have $5 daily specials. Ribs are delicious and fall off the bone. Even though they change from hawaiian rolls to reg. roll for the sandwiches, they are still Bomb!!!

I went there and ordered to go. When I opened my bag and looked at the cornbread it was burnt and the tri tip was dry and tough. I will not be going back. I am very unsatisfied with the meal I received. Who wraps cornbread that is burnt and sell it? You couldn’t take the time to make it presentable or throw that piece out?

1st time today, coworker told me about it. I got a pulled pork sandwich with a side of Mac & Cheese. You get a lot of meat on sandwich for $6.50, the Mac & Cheese (my fav food) is ok, it’s not cheesy how I like it. The sauce has a nice tang. They also have daily specials during the week. I’ll be back, to try other stuff

I am sitting at Hambone’s right now eating this amazing bbq!!! I have never had such good bbq where ALL of the meat is so tender that it literally melts in your mouth! We’re having the bbq chicken, brisket and tri tip with mac n cheese, potato salad, collard greens, and baked beans. I would be perfectly fine if I never eat at a different bbq spot ever again as long as I can keep coming back here! I’m so glad we found this place!

I had a taste for some chicken or turkey hot links and was referred to this restaurant. Well, I should’ve call first. No chicken on turkey hotlinks, so I decided to get chicken and requested a breast, well no breasts. I was going to get the chicken or turkey chili and was inform the menu was old, and the chili was no longer being served. Ended up ordering the thigh and leg, when I got home which was less than 10 miles away our food was cold, the thigh wasn’t fully cooked and pink, the butter on my cornbread didn’t melt, just a disappointing all away around experience for me. I’m going to use the remaining BBQ sauce, which has a nice flavor for the wings I’m about to thaw out.

food was fine been here many times but they gave me change with a fraudulent bill. If this business had any integrity they would have reported the bill and not tried to pass it on to there loyal customers. will never be eating here or recommending this place again. beware if you do eat here check your bills.

I saw a review that said the food tasted old and OMG – The plastic on my cornbread smelled like chemicals or bug spray of some sort- I got 2 other opinions to make sure I wasn’t crazy. My Mac and cheese tasted old and burnt, my rib tips were mixed with good meat and extra dry pieces that were not edible and they forgot my sauce on the side. The potato salad and cake was the only thing tolerable. I literally threw away $25 worth of food! Gas is TOO HIGH for this smh ♀️. I won’t be back sadly.
