We came here for dinner while in town and were not let down. This bar is pretty on the inside. The bar area has a rustic feel with a skeleton theme? It was interesting. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. They were pretty busy and keeping up with service well. The food to us was just okay. Their 2 dishes the fried prawns and coconut shrimp are not much different at all one just has coconut they’re both just jumbo shrimp shrimp in their homemade breading. Their breading is just okay not much flavor honestly. Also if you are going to bread the entire shrimp, just take off the tails or don’t bread the tail that was a little frustrating. The clam soup was delicious, as were the deserts. I wasn’t super impressed but we would come back. Mixed drinks were good as well.

I understand people like this place, maybe this was just a 1 off bad experience for me. We sat outside. The club soda I ordered tasted awfully, I asked for Pepsi and that was flat as well. We ordered pretzels, a burger and a fish sandwich. I think the waitress forgot about us because she came out 30 minutes later and said, “I didn’t forget about you.” The food took another half hour to come out. The waitress was very accommodating getting our kids fresh vegetables, and that was really nice. Maybe this just was not a good place to bring kids. Maybe it was the time of night, we arrived at 8pm. Just did not have a great experience. The place had 4.5 stars on Google reviews and did not live up to the hype. The food wasn’t that great, definitely not worth the wait. 1.5 hours for some pretzels and a couple sandwiches?

You might not guess it from outside, but this little bar and restaurant nestled out in the middle of the woods has phenomenal food ambiance and service. They have live bands that play on the weekend and a few other treats during the week. Even their pork chop comes highly recommended. What kind of place has a pork chop on the menu and it’s actually phenomenal? This place. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. On the additional plus side of surprises, all of the salad dressings are homemade. I highly recommend the blue cheese if you adore chunky blue cheese dressing, and frequently there is a complementary random dessert that comes with full entrees.

We stumbled on this unbelievably good restaurant on our way home from visiting Penn State. Our server was Sammy, who is a delight. It’s Father’s Day so there was a surf and turf special and it did not disappoint. Everything we ate was homemade, including the bread, the salad dressing and the dessert. The meat was cooked sous vide, the seafood was tender and yummy. This is truly a hidden gem. I’m so lucky we happened to look on Yelp when we were in the area instead of ending up at a fast food place. Do not miss Hammered Steel Tavern! Thank you for a wonderful evening. I hope to be back on Friday!

Great place for drinks and food. Server was very attentive and food was great. We had wings and coconut shrimp and it was very good. Definitely recommend this place for a quick stop for beers and food.
