Busy hole in the wall feel of a restaurant offering an array of traditional Japanese food. Of particular note is the pork katsudon – executed perfectly with the battered outer, panko layer over over a layer of egg on rice. I enjoyed my dish but almost wished I had chosen that. Solid place.

Huge portions, if that’s your thing. 2 negatives for me: 1. Personally, I feel like charging a little less for the dish and allowing people wanting more portions to pay an extra 1-2$ for kaedama would be nice. 2. The inside of the egg was cold.

I loved the Chicken Kara-age. It was very juicy and tasty.

Holy moly. I did not think I’d find authentic Japanese ramen as good as Little Tokyo in Los Angeles but I am so happy to be proved wrong. The broth of the Tonkotsu ramen is so flavorful and not heavy like other places. The pork is insanely tender. You can’t go wrong here.

It feels like typical Japanese small ramen shop. Crowded and down to the earth. It’s a better place for the working ppl have a quick bite. Food was okay. Appetizer was good(takoyaki can be better). The soup in ramen is not salty enough. The color of soup seems to have rich ingredients inside, but I cannot taste it. Overall the food was okay, portion and price were good.

Busy ramen restaurant. Seems like they always have a waitlist. We waited close to 40 mins to get in for a table of four. It was on a Saturday past 1pm.

I was glad to see that the owner was a Japanese gentlemen. I imagine he tried to be as much authentic as possible with ingredients he can get better in the States. Having said that it is tasted a bit different from what I remember. Yet even in Hakata, each store has their own way of cooking and tastes. So kudos to Kenji and please keep up the good work. I enjoyed a good bowl of ramen thete. ごちそうさまでした。

I would like to give all four stars to the chicken karaage! DanDan mian is overrated. It has a sweet flavor that I don’t like… Portion is big!!! But the noodles are not authentic Japanese ramen. Disappointed ☹️

The best things on my table were the chashu fried rice rice and my water. The pork gyoza didn’t have any pork flavor whatsoever. My tonkotsu chashu ramen was very bad. Didnt have that pork bone flavor at all. The eggs was delicious however. Also the chashu in the ramen were over cooked and dry. Was very dissappointed.

This place came highly recommended from a “foodie” friend. It did not disappoint. The vegetarian ramen was delicious. It was a very generous portion size – ended up having to take a good portion of it home. The spicy edamame was good, but in the future we’d probably order the basic stuff. Why mess with a delicious classic?
