The building is a little dated, but the food, OMG. Had salt and pepper tofu, egg foo young, sweet and sour soup. Came out great. Food was hot, freshly made. If you’re ever in that area, stop and grab something to eat. Also, if you’re a truck driver, you can park at the Love’s Travel Stop, walk over the Happ Chen and enjoy some good hot food.

I was impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant as well as the friendliness of the front end staff. The photos of the restaurant are showing the light fixtures and bulbs, vents and window sills are clean and not dusty like so many other restaurants. Not so much impressed with the food. I ordered a variety of dishes: combo lo mein, orange chicken, dumplings, bbq ribs. The ribs were cooked perfectly,, but did not have enough flavor. The orange chicken was tasty, but there was zero heat. The dumplings were steamed and fried, they were a bit gummy and lacking that bang of flavor I was looking for. The lo mein was not to my liking; the chicken was shredded, I did not find or notice pork, there was an abundance of shrimp.

Surprisingly excellent! The dining room on an early Sunday evening was eerily empty with no music. I was having doubts about the place. The lady was very pleasant, she took our order. We ordered Eggplant w/ Tofu in Garlic Sauce, Broccoli w/ Tofu in Garlic Sauce. The broccoli was incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection! Nice and al dente. Tofu on both dishes was so fresh. Generous portions allowed a perfect amount for lunch the next day. Only complaint is that they serve your meal in a round to-go container, rice in a styrofoam clamshell container, and styrofoam plate to eat on- Real silverware though. Other than that, the food was delicious!

On my many travels, this place is located near a truck stop… short walk there from my spot… service excellent, food great. This was a really nice experience and will always go here when I’m in town. My 2nd time going here on 3/24/23 was a great experience as well. Still great full it’s next to the truck stops

Happy Chen in Carlisle,,PA. So delicious. Vietnamese noodle soup spicy af. And crispy beef amazing. Great service as well . I’ve been here many times and always have had a remarkable experience. Months later still fabulous food a different Vietnamese noodle soup and Triple Delight ,love this place.

This establishment is very clean and well maintained, it was not busy when I arrived. The customer service is excellent! I ordered today and in, and had the king pao shrimp with wanton soup and it was excellent. Their business is a short walk from both truckstops. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a nice sit down meal.
