I never had pepper steak and rice before but I definitely enjoyed it. I ordered inside and had a reasonable wait. The restaurant is pretty inside with nize booths. The staff is so nice & willing to answer questions. The lunch specials are great only 6.99 a meal comes with an egg roll & I forgot the other option.

I placed my order online before opening hours with no trouble and asked for noon pickup. I only waited a few minutes when I arrived, I’m guessing because I’d ordered Mongolian beef and typically that isn’t made ahead of time. The restaurant was simply decorated and clean and had a good atmosphere. The lady who helped us was pleasant. We ordered the Mongolian beef, sesame chicken, sesame beef, egg foo young and hot n’ sour soup. Everything was good and exceeded expectations. We will go back and are looking forward to trying more dishes.

Other than waiting over a hour and 30 minutes for the food. Everything was cooked perfectly. We got war sue gai, shrimp egg foo young, garlic beef and happy family. War sue gai and egg foo young was different than expected but it was delicious. This was a Saturday evening and they only had two cooks. The food is definitely worth the wait . I just wish they would give correct times so I won’t be waiting for so long at the restaurant bc I don’t live close.

Happy Dragon was a little above mediocre overall. The inside was dirty and dusty on the walls and ceiling, but the tables were clean. The food was decent. The vegetable fried rice didn’t have a ton of flavor, but there was mostly vegetables in it. The sweet n sour sauce had some citrus flavoring I’m not used to but it was okay. The chicken was fresh and not overcooked. They took coupons4indy discount which ended up feeding my family of 4 for under 20 dollars with leftovers to spare. I’ll try them again. It’s not always stellar even where I usually go for Chinese food.

I go here regularly and the staff is always prompt to help every customer and they pick up calls almost immediately when ordering ahead! I’ve had a lot of Chinese food in the Indy area and this is by far the best! Also the food here is great, not just once, but every time I order! It’s delicious! Highly recommend 🙂

Great food but I’m not giving more than one star to a place where, no matter when we show up – on time or long past time – the food is NEVER ready. I can understand wanting to have food fresh for the customer, I appreciate that, but when I put the order in over the phone or online, and I am given a time estimate, and I show up, I do NOT want to be told “it’ll be ten minutes”, which we have been EVERY TIME. The food should be ready at the estimated time and if it can’t be, we should be told. It’s really as simple as that, and I’m quite tired of the run around. So, one star, and I’ll be looking for a more time-sensible Chinese place.

The food is good, but they never estimate their time correctly- lately it’s been double. They say 25 minutes and it’s not ready for over 50 minutes. If you’re that busy, fine, but tell me so I don’t end up sitting in your restaurant waiting for over half an hour. I’d rather just leave my house later.
