They stuff a good pound (maybe more) of perfectly seasoned meat into soft, pillowy corn-based pockets. Owner is a delight and the music selection is quite funky. I don’t love on-street parking and only having bar/high top seating but those factors would absolutely not keep me from coming back.

My son took “us” for lunch today at Happy Pappi Arepas Bar and I had no idea this little gem was tucked into Chenango Street! The food was delicious & filling, the atmosphere was quaint (like you’ve known these folks & are welcome!) and Mr. Carrillo was a splendid host! (Even shared how to make his rice & beans when I asked!)

My family and I arrived at Happy Pappi’s last night within an hour of closing time. Pappi was welcoming and prepared us some fantastic food. I especially appreciate that when I told him I have Celiac’s, he showed special care and even took the time to show me which sauces were safe and which were not safe for me to eat. Without a doubt, the arepa I had was the best sandwich I have had in the year since I went gluten-free. Will absolutely be returning, thanks!
