We were visiting Kanab during spring break and couldn’t wait to have dinner here. We were not disappointed! We tried the brisket sandwich, the BBQ sundae (with baked beans and slaw), pork nachos and grilled chicken. Service was great, the owners are so friendly and welcoming. I’m glad I took pictures before we left because everything was devoured almost immediately when we got back to the hotel. Highly recommend if you are in town!

The owner and his spouse are nice, but this was the worst meal we had. The pulled pork has no flavor, the corn bread was very dry and the potato wedges were not very hot and didn’t have much flavor. The BBQ chicken was much better then the pork. The pork was also greasy. There was a little pool of grease in the corner of the container. I never ever waste food. I always finish what I order. In this case, I tossed out the potato’s and corn bread. My wife didn’t finish her’s either.

We had the brisket sandwich and pulled pork sandwich w/ baked beans. The portions were generous and the flavor was good, but it wasn’t anything special, especially for the price. The sauce is store-purchased Sweet Baby Rays. The baked beans had the best flavor and was served up piping hot!

Happy Trails indeed! I was driving through Kanab and was looking for a quick lunch while driving to Park City. I spotted a small food truck parked in a lot and stopped by not expecting much. WOW! I’ve had BBQ in GA, SC, TX, St. Louis and even Korean BBQ in NYC. These folks have legit BBQ. The brisket was amazing, perfectly prepared, not too dry and not to fatty with just the right amount of smoked flavor. The bun on my sandwich was Hawaiian style and super fresh. The portions were generous and prices were AMAZING. Next time I drive from AZ to UT, I’ll plan ahead and stop at Happy Trails!

Great little food truck with some of the best pulled pork sandwiches and Cole slaw I have ever tasted. Shaded seating area to enjoy your meal.

After moving here from NH a year ago I’ve tried bbq all over. I’ll have to say happy trails has some of the best ribs I’ve had anywhere. No need for sauce, they are bursting with juice and dry smoky flavor. A worthy stop for anyone that’s in Kanab. Melt in your mouth Dee-licious.

We stopped in after a long day in Bryce canyon. Shortly after leaving the park my wife asked me what I thought of that little BBQ trailer for dinner. Great!! Now with BBQ on the brain and an hour and a half ride back it was agonizing. Well, we finally got to this little gem which is the part you care about…

Overpriced, small portions. The meat was good, but not fantastic based on the price. 10.99 for 3 ribs and one incrediblly terrible side of cold dried out greasy potato wedges. It is also just a food truck with outdoor tables.

As for BBQ, it’s pretty dang good. A little on the expensive side, but that brisket isn’t cheap to make, but it is good.

Driving from Phoenix to Utah there are 2 ways to go.. Through Vegas or through Kanab.. We go through Kanab just to go to this food truck. It’s that good. I am a bbq person myself, and by that I mean, I have an expensive offset smoking rig and do my own Q.. Because of that I am very picky about smoked meat. So when I say trust me, I know what I’m talking about. If it’s open, and your in Kanab, just go here. You won’t be sorry.
