Good service and food. Thought I smelled smoke when came in which I thought was going to be an issue but either we got use to it or it went away. The dining room is no smoking but not sure about the bar. Food prices were average but we got lots of food aka fries. The chili sampler was a cool idea even thought I didn’t order chili. We are from out if state so can’t return but if we lived in the area we would be back.

Stopped by Hard Times for a late lunch and was not disappointed. We were greeted and seated quickly, our waitress took our drink order and brought us the chili sampler tray. All options were very yummy. I ordered the 5-Way Chili Mac with Texas Chili, my date ordered the 4-Way Chili Mac with Cincinnati and Terlingua Red (didn’t even know that was an option, mind blown). Both lunches were delivered promptly and were extra delicious. I wish we had some time to play pool, maybe next time. Will definitely return soon to try them Chili Taters.

I came in for the three-way chili mac and got some added diced tomatoes as well it was really good because it was Sunday it came with a side I recommend the tater tots. For the chili today I got the Terlingua Red a little bit spicy with the Texas dry was a really good mix.

Top notch for bar food. They had a limited menu for a concert event, but that was to be expected. I had the grilled chicken sandwich which was juicy and flavorful. My hubby and I also shared the bacon cheddar fries, yum! The bar staff kept our drinks full. During the show there were plenty of wait staff checking in frequently. The only weird thing was that if you had a tab at the bar, it did not connect to wait staff tablets and you couldn’t open a tab with wait staff…however you could have a tab open with two different wait staff…this caused confusion at the end of the night when our friend paid her bill with one waitress and then another asked her to pay her bill with her. This issue needs to be addressed. All tabs should be connected. You lost out on drink sales because we couldn’t get through the crowd to the bar to access our tab. The show was great and security did a great job nipping the one issue in the bud. I felt safe the whole show. The bathrooms were dated but spotless! They even had an attendant on duty to keep it clean. Well done.

Went for some drinks and pool late Tuesday night. Pretty good price and good drinks. Didn’t seem very busy. Only about 8 people there in total. Tried the bacon cheddar fries with ranch and they were BOMB. Overall, I had a great time with my girl. Definitely would go back on a night that’s busier.

I really like this bar / pool hall not really a pool hall but they have to be pool tables in there, not sure about the action didn’t seem like there was any sure you could maybe find it on the evening but the tables are good and the atmosphere is nice and the wait staff on point

I have been for Lunch at this location twice and both on Tuesday’s for lunch and got the Texas 3-way chili and Tuesday is ‘all you can eat’ chili. both times service was decent, but keep in mind you are at a chili/bar and this is not the Waldorf Astoria. Both times I went, one serving was all I could eat. Yesterday, the portion size was really generous, i even got a chili sampler (after I already ordered my Texas chili) and the corn bread was good, moist, warm, slightly sweet, and the chili was very hot (temperature). So I haven’t encountered any of the negative things that others are posting about, maybe Tuesday for lunch is the best time to go? I lived in Old Town Alex years ago and used to walk the the 1800 block to frequent the original location and of course the atmosphere there is great. had a different vibe back then (30 yrs ago) the location in springfield is just way too smokey. So Far i have enjoyed my visits here and hope it continues.

1st time making it to this venue and what a treat. The setup was nice and well laid out. I like the double tiers as if there is a sold out performer you can still get a good view on the upper railing. The dining/bar area was very well kept through the night as well.
