I’ve eaten at another Hartz once before and was so unimpressed I never returned to one. But today I decided to stop by the one in Livingston. It was a great improvement over my first experience. Food was good, not great. It was all hot and fresh. I especially enjoyed the fried fish and mashed sweet potatoes. Rolls are very good. They were constantly cleaning. It’s good place to grab a quick inexpensive Southern comfort food meal.

I came today to pickup some chicken.The buffet was fully stocked and looked Delicious! I bought a chicken special that was Legs and Thighs. It works for me, as dark meat pieces are my favorite. I take it home, as my wife and I make our own sides. She likes this ,because it keeps the house cool during this HOT summer and the kitchen clean. The Thighs were GIANT and CRISPY! My goodness, that was some DELICIOUS chicken! Thank you Hartz for the Great service. Popeyes and Chicken Express have nothing on Hartz. Popeyes pieces are really small, Chicken Express is TOO pricey. Hartz in my opinion is the BEST CHICKEN in Livingston, Texas. We will be back.

I personally didn’t go to this location. My review is in regards to the lack of response 2 days ago, 7/24/23, when my mother fell over the curb in the handicap space right outside the front door. My parents rave over the buffet there and love having dinner there. They exited the restaurant and they held hands to the car, as they separated at the front of the car, she came around to the door and tripped over the curb and face planted onto the concrete. My father called 911 and EMT’s responded, not one person from the restaurant went out to check on their patrons, and not even a civilian walking or driving by attempted to see if her or my dad (also injured while trying to help her) were ok. These are 74 year old individuals who help EVERYONE in need that they come across and not one person came to their aid, except for the responding EMT’s. This happened around 5:00-6:00 pm, if you were witness to this incident, I ask that you please contact me. Thank you. YES, she did suffer injuries, yes they will need to seek additional medical care for their injuries.

I used the Drive thru. It was just a circle around the parking lot and order by a member who came to your car. Now for as long as I sit there with only two cars ahead of me they could have been cooking more chicken, so I am thinking yea!fresh chicken. Nope I bought a leg and a biscuit. It was neither hot nor warm. I was so disappointed. The food was delivered by a lady with a cart to my car.

The new management is doing a great job, we went there today and though they messed up on one thing they were more than willing to fix it and went above and beyond will definitely eat there again and definitely recommend anyone that likes chicken, Buffets, and to go food needs to go eat at least once because you will go back..
