They have very limited hours lately because Big Mama had health issues, but she still wants to continue to serve the community. The hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. 6 days a week (closed Saturdays) and that’s it. The best thing to do is get there early so you can get what you want because they do stop serving fried food just before closing and you’re stuck with just whatever is left around.

Right when you walk in you are greeted with great hospitality, and it feels like family! The food is AMAZING, my favorite is Sunday special, that chicken n dressing!! THE BEST, pair it with a kool aid and the best german chocolate cake! 10/10 always!

Superb Soul Food. Their chicken fried steak is sooo good. When they told me to get it I wasn’t sure cause everything looked amazing. Make sure to get the Kool-Aid unless you have diabetes then don’t. Their food is just genuinely good. Make sure to enjoy yourself and take your time eating.

It’s the world’s best home cooked meal that you will ever eat. Family owned and the most respected in East Texas. I would put them in top 3 in the country. If you don’t believe me the Beef tips and rice I’d to die for. They have a excellent menu to choose from.

This place has become my favorite go-to place for soul food on Sundays. The chicken and dressing okra and greens were delicious, especially the banana pudding. The vibe here can be busy at times but that’s to be expected. this restaurant reminds me of a gullah geechee restaurant back home. kinda wish they were listed on doordash. I would easily pay the difference just to have their food again so far the experience has been pleasant.

Tried to eat here twice. First time they were closed 30 mins before the actual closing time. Second time the door was locked but the inside was full of people. No one came to the door to open it so I just left. I try to support black owned businesses as much as possible but this level of service will not get this restaurant any further than East Texas.
