We’re at Hebert’s every other Thursday for Trivia Night hosted by Suspense Games. It’s our family’s favorite night of the week and the food is always amazing

Ordered steak. We each ordered a different side, when the food was brought out, we had mashed potatoes on the plates. When we asked why, we were told no substitutions were allowed on the sides. Then why were we permitted to order a different side each when the order was taken? We also were not informed of it at any point after the order was placed. It was only when the order was brought out and we noticed we had the mashed potatoes. I noticed that at the table next to us, at least one customer had ordered steak and he had fries with his steak. So, it seems that you can choose your side. I wonder if our waitress just forgot what sides we wanted and the kitchen staff just sent mashed potatoes since that is typically what goes with steak. I thought the mashed potatoes tasted like instant potatoes (the flakes that come in a box) they also had the consistency of instant potatoes. I didn’t eat them. Also, we ordered the steak medium and both were well-done. We didn’t send anything back because nowadays people are so immature and vindictive, especially in food service, that they will get back at you by doing something to your food. At least the steak was well-seasoned. If it’s a good steak it doesn’t need any A1 or anything else. It did have a good flavor but it was a little over-done so we asked for some A1 on the side. They only serve steak on Friday nights. Other than that, it was an okay dining experience. No hair in the food, no rude staff, no surprise charges on our bill.

Great little joint off Walker South. Been there for boudin, burgers, club sandwich. Went the other night for some dungeness crab. Great flavor. Next Mardi Gras season I’ma try their boudin king cake.

I’ve tried several items off the menu. The burgers aren’t worth the price in my opinion. Apparently there aren’t combo meals as I was charged separately for the burger, fries & drink. I haven’t ordered another burger since. The andouille is absolutely horrible. I used it in a gumbo and the pieces from where I sliced it fell apart and there was nothing left but little andouille chunks and casing slices floating around. I’ll never buy that again. The boudin burger was a one and done too as it was very greasy. The ONLY reason they get 3 stars from me is their Boudin King Cake’s are PHENOMENAL. That’s all I order from there now, when available.

Pretty bad service, came in at 11am to get some food. Order a sausage poboy and vegetables and it took them 30 mins to make this “poboy.” Expensive. Don’t think I’ll ever stop by.

First pig roast we have ever done. We have some things to learn but Heberts was the best when we ordered and they answered a lot of our questions. Note to self: make sure the pig is completely thawed before cooking

Really good food for good prices. Ordered a Patty-melt w/ jalapeños and the Pepper jack Boudin ball. If I lived around here I would certainly be a returning customer

My food was cold and we never got a part of our order. It was trivia night, so that was fun. Basically they were overwhelmed by the number of people there.
