Hemingway’s Tavern is an epicurean adventure inspired by the life and writings of Nobel and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Ernest Hemingway. With an emphasis on his beloved Key West home, the menu incorporates ambitious Floribbean flavors along with signature sandwiches, specials and classic dishes executed to perfection. I honestly don’t see what the big deal is about this place. It’s definitely a locals bar for 45+ with average South Florida dishes. I had the conch chowder, and I tasted zero conch, but it was heavy ton the tomato. My mom had the conch fritters, and I swear every one of them had a piece of shell.

Went on a Saturday right at lunch time. Parking was a little tricky, there’s a lot of spots but they were all occupied. We were prepared to wait when we got to the host stand but they were able to seat us immediately. We sat outside, it’s covered and there are fans so it was really nice.

My partner and I came here for an early dinner. For appetizers we ordered the Buffalo jerk wings. The sauce didn’t have much flavors but these were the most tender wings I’ve ever had in my entire life. The meat was easily pulled off the bone. My partner ordered a salad which she enjoyed. For the entrees I ordered the ribs, with red beans and rice and the truffle fries. I did not like my meal, but my partner ate the leftovers. The fries seemed old to me, and the rice for the rice and beans seemed undercooked. My partners entree was the new truffle mushroom meatball pasta which she thoroughly enjoyed. I am eager to try brunch here soon.

Good dining experience, great foods, and great service. We ordered many dishes and they served really fast eventhough it was a full house when we got there. My recommended dish would be Key West Bowl. It is really amazing.

The conch fritters were well seasoned and well fried. The only thing that was not so good was that the conch meat in the fritters was a bit tough. The blackened snapper sandwich was excellently done. The service was great. The wait was not even 25 min like the hostess said it would be. We sat down 15 minutes into waiting. Overall experience was satisfying.

I can’t believe how unbelievably fast the service is! No sooner do we order wine and mixed drinks, they’re on our table. Same with soup, salads, entrees and desserts. Cocktails are well-made, lobster bisque could’ve used a tad more salt, but was otherwise excellent. Splurge on the plantain bread pudding. Update: went back in April. Still outstanding service and food, but mom’s mojito could’ve used some more sugar syrup. Hemingway margarita was excellent.

Went to Melbourne for the Easter weekend and found Hemingway’s for a delightful Saturday night dinner. Enjoyed some beignets from their cafe while we were waiting for our table. They were delicious! The food was excellent. The fish dip was a great appetizer. My wife and daughter enjoyed their meals and I must say, the portion on the rib platter was crazy! I took the other half home and saved it for lunch at work

My boyfriend and I went here for the first time recently and we loved it! We forgot to take a picture of our food but it was so good and they have so many options, definitely going to be coming back soon. Rosie was our server and she was amazing, very attentive and helped with any and all accommodations we asked for. Shout out to the chefs for making such amazing food and bartender for the proud lemonade! You all made the experience so much better.

What a great atmosphere. It was super fun, a little loud but just ok. Tried a hibiscus margarita which was very tasty. Tried the guacamole which was kinda odd honestly but the plantain chips were great. Ordered the Cuban which was really tasty and juicy. Definitely recommend. Give them a try.
