The meat here is absolutely amazing. The brisket is to die for and the pork spareribs are absolutely delicious. I also highly recommend the onion rings. The onion rings are amazing. I would definitely order both of those again. I only took one star off because I didn’t particularly like the sides. The atmosphere the place was great and super comfortable. The owner walks around and talks to everybody and makes it feel like a cozy environment. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone

For some excellent BBQ, you must come to Hickory and Spice. Come early before they sell out.

Heard about this place through social media tik tok, Instagram. Okay, here we go as someone who takes pride in bbq. Here is my most honest review no lie. Brisket was good. The ribs were good. Fall off the bone good. I’m not a big fan of sweet ribs, but overall, they were good, and I had to try them. Turkey was a disappointment tasted oven baked, NOT smoked, and was cut horrible. Thick like Thanksgiving turkey, I’m used to texas style thin cut, butter dipped (Franklin’s). Onion rings were really good, nice, and crispy. Mac and cheese were okay. Overall, this is good bbq. My recommendations are the brisket, ribs, and onion rings.

I was hopeful about this spot. The menu is very minimal. The portions are very small. My food was 25$ (water Bottle was free). Service was nice but they gotta up the food game. Mac and Cheese had no flavor and the BBQ was watery.

Excellent food! I am from Kansas City, so my standards are pretty high. The brisket was juicy and tender. Had a different taste than I was used to but it was still good. Pork ribs were good. Mac and cheese, sweet potatoes, and tater tots we’re excellent! Overall, a nice experience. I will return. It is a bit pricey for what you get. The owner came out to greet us. He was very nice.

Some of the best BBQ in the OC we’ve had!! Went early afternoon on Father’s Day, just before the rush. Ordered 3 brisket; with sides of sweet potato casserole, adult Mac n cheese and Cole slaw. We also had a small sample of the Turkey & cranberry sauce. The brisket was fall apart tender & flavorful – you didn’t have to use a knife! The Turkey was super moist and the sauce was nice & light (Definitely will get a full order next time). It’s a walk up counter, where you seat yourself. Plenty of space for large families. Got caught up & forgot to takes photos before we ate it all! Showing only half of the onion rings we received.

Absolutely amazing meats and interesting side dishes and super friendly and personable staff. The only downside is that they’re not open late and often sell out early. That being said, if you’re open to spending a little more on your BBQ and are willing to aim for an early dinner, you definitely have to try them out

We came here the day before Father’s Day around 2:30. It was not busy at that’s time. There were 7 of us. Most of us had the brisket sandwich and one had just the brisket only. The sandwich and the brisket were delicious. We also had the Onion Rings. OMG!! They were the best onion rings I’ve ever had. The seasoning on them, panko and fairy dust , were sooooo good on them. I could’ve eaten that as my meal.
