Small interior but sufficient. Great pulled pork with lots of smoky flavor. Ribs were great too. Baked Beans are heavy on the onion flavor, but good mix of different beans. Crispy fries. Try a Cherry mixed Coke! Sauces are more vinegary flavored than I like (felt like I was dying Easter eggs). Great customer service!

Hicks Bar-B-Que in Belleville, Illinois, offers a wonderful selection of excellent smoked bar-b-que. It is a fairly homey place. You order your food at the indoor window, and they bring it out to you. The service is fast and friendly with free refills on soft drinks. I had the slider sampler (offers sliders with bbq pork, beef brisket, and chicken) which comes with two sides (I had potato salad and baked beans). My nephew had the BBQ nachos. The food was hot and delicious.

We got loadef fries with chicken, tomato, jalapeno, green onion, bbq sauce & cheese. The fries were the best part because they were crispy. The chicken was a whole chicken breast that we had to pull apart and wasnt seasoned. A large piece of bread on the bottom, not sure what the purpose of that is. They gave plenty of nacho cheese which is good. But overall, not impressed & would not go again.

The best pork steaks I’ve had in the area!! Had the burger and bacon ranch cheese fries yesterday…..all I can say I’m getting another today!!!! Bonus they have an drive-thru. I can tell you, if you want real good smoked meat in the area, go here!

They were already sold out of some items, but we got pulled pork & ribs. The fries were excellent as was the Mac & cheese w/bacon. Fried okra & baked beans were good as well. Nachos were very good, huge size. Service was great, friendly staff. Will definitely go back. We had a group of 7 and got our food pretty quickly.

Absolutely delicious. I just wish they hadn’t forgotten my sweet potato fries. I would have liked to try them after eating everything else we ordered. But everything was so good, I can’t be mad. We ordered a slab of ribs, wings, pulled pork (the rub!), green beans (spicy and flavorful), Brussels sprouts petals, and mac & cheese with bacon. My least favorite thing was the mac. The bacon was the obvious star; it could have used more for the salt. The meat was all fall-off-the-bone tender and well smoked. We’d have it all again (plus the sweet potato fries) next time we visit.

Food was great. I’m giving 5 stars for the overall vibe and nice staff. Kids meals were free on the Sunday we went which was a huge plus. Ribs were tender but not ‘fall off the bone’ which is exactly what I like. Smoked turkey was juicy, pulled pork was spot on. They have a ton of sides to choose from including fried green tomatoes! They only offer two sauces.. sweet or one with a touch of spice, they were both good and I think if they added a third choice it would be perfect.

We have been wanting to try Hicks Bar-B-Que for a while and we finally made it. We were not disappointed! I had the pulled pork sandwich and my husband had the smoked turkey and they were both delicious. They have several choices of sauces on the side that are great. We sat out on the patio with our dog and one of the young ladies working brought him a dish of water. Very friendly staff. We will be back soon. My only regret is waiting so long to try it.

This is my favorite BBQ in Belleville. Maybe even the STL area. There is another place down the road that begins with a B, but it can be hit or miss. After ten or so visits to Hicks I’m never disappointed. The turkey sandwich is my favorite. The cucumber salad fantastic. My son’s only complaint is that they gave him too much pulled pork 🙂

When restaurants change their menus, it means price increases. We ordered a brisket and a turkey sandwich and two sodas and it was $30.45 with a $2 tip. It is not clear from their updated menu boards that their sandwich items only come with chips and you can’t substitute something else. So when I asked for BBQ beans (diet doesn’t let me do chips), they charged me an additional $2.75 for them and took the chips off the plate. We’re taking this place off our personal go-to list because they’re now too expensive! I could eat at a sit-down place with waitresses cheaper than this. They also serve drinks in plastic glasses now instead of Styrofoam. They are very good about offering to-go cups if you want one. Their BBQ is good, but it’s not THAT good at these prices. I don’t want to stop tipping either.
