A real hidden gem. The place is in a shopping area that you have to reach via a driveway off Sumpter Road. So the expectations weren’t great. But frankly this is one of the best Mexican joints I’ve been in … period. And I spend part of each February in Cancun. The food is fresh and interesting. The service was top notch and the Corona was cold. Even the decor had the minimum of cheesy Mexican chatzkis. A definite return visit is in the cards.

Amazing food and great waitstaff! I tried the bean chimichanga and it was delicious! It was my moms birthday and she got a free fried ice cream which was amazing! I highly recommend stopping in for some food! Plus they had lots of different beers to chose from!

About what to expect at a strip mall restaurant. I got the chumichanga dinner and it wasn’t too bad, the guys I was with got small portions so in that aspect the price isn’t entirely worth the meal but the economy isn’t the greatest at the moment. The idea that the waitress always had to yell coming in or going out to the kitchen there should be a better solution. The place was definitely showing off it’s Mexican pride with its decoration. Kudos to the staff for working with what you got.

My wife and I have been coming here 2yrs now- Sorry that we waited so long!!! The staff is always friendly and attentive. The owner is always present and very friendly as well. I have tried almost the whole menu and have not been disappointed. The food comes out super fast no matter how busy they are also. Hidalgo is a hidden gem that I am glad we found!!!!

Excellent restaurant all around! The staff are wonderful, the owner is fantastic, the food is great, the service is very quick, and the margaritas are absolutely incredible. Everyone who works there was very friendly and kind and the food came out fast. The food itself was pretty bland, in my opinion, though. Not inedible but just kind of plain and not very seasoned. I won’t personally be returning. Which is a shame because again, everyone was really nice, but the food just isn’t very good.

I have nothing bad to say about this store. The food was GREAT, the service was GREAT, and the prices were good. I didn’t go to the restrooms but no one in my party came out complaining about them so they must not have been bad. So why didn’t I give this place 5 stars? Well, it had the look and feel of a 50’s dinner with some Mexican decorations. Most Mexican restaurants I go in to are dim and dark. I loved that this place was bright and well lit. Still, i think there should have been more of a Mexican atmosphere to it. This place was not short of AWESOME! I definitely will be going back and I will be telling others to give the place a shot.
