We had a great Father’s Day lunch. Everything we tried was fresh and cooked to perfection. Everyone was really friendly and I have zero complaints. Try the pecan cobbler.

Buffet style catfish and more. The food was not marked with what it was, everything looked the same. It was all fried something pretty much. I only got the things I could identify. The catfish was amazing, tender juicy and delicious. Fried shrimp was glorious and the steamed broccoli was very good as well. I sampled the banana pudding, blackberry cobbler and the pecan cobbler. Wonderful. The service was second to none, very helpful wait staff. The inside reminded me of a school cafeteria. Hard seats and a little cramped in the booth, tables were pretty small so you were right on top of the folks that went with you.

I spotted this little place on the map and decided to check it out for dinner. It’s basically a buffet of fried foods with some sides thrown in. We’re talking fried catfish filets and steaks, chicken tenders, frog legs, shrimp, fries, green beans, hush puppies and mushrooms & okra (I think). The sides consisted of mac-n-cheese, greens, cob corn, baked beans, etc. They also had some crawfish and cold peel-n-eat shrimps. Desserts on offer were 2 different cobblers, some soft serve and a couple other things. The standouts for me were the tenders and the fried shrimp. The tenders were huge and the breading was perfectly seasoned. The mac was just so-so. Everything else I tried was pretty good. The soft serve was the custard-type with a slight yellow color instead of white and I loved it. The place overall was clean and the servers do a great job. I probably won’t visit too much mainly because it’s really out of the way from my neighborhood and it’s a bit pricey. But 1 suggestion I’ll make is I really wished they had some country gravy to go with those tenders. They’re great by themselves but that gravy would kick them up to elite status. Just a thought. Btw, they could also use some sort of lighting in the parking lot cuz it’s pitch black out there at night.

I’ve been going to this spot since the late 1990’s (back when it was called Peyton Creek). I’ve always enjoyed the walk across the covered bridge across the creek and into the restaurant, where the smells of fresh catfish and the sweet scent of my favorite blackberry cobbler hit my senses. It’s practically the same as I remember as a child (minus the smoking section). The food has a so familiar flavor which brings a great feeling of nostalgia. The price of the buffet isn’t a cheaper option as far as buffet comes, but the food is really good quality food which will keep you full and the flavors will keep you satisfied. If I could afford to eat here more often, I’d likely do so, but I also realize the plate is definitely worth that much at least for what I can get.

A shadow of the former fish house in this location. Do not go here. I’m not even sure if there’s more than two seasonings in the entire kitchen, and the owner is a genuinely narcissistic and abusive presence in the restaurant. Give your business to someone who will appreciate it.

Crawfish were over salted, catfish over salted and over cooked. Froglegs were ok without the batter. Did not taste anything like their other restaurant in Quitman. No Strawberry cake. The excuse was the price of eggs went up. Very poor dessert selection and have no idea what came out of the ice cream machine. Not ice cream. Service was terrible. Had to chase down a waitress to get tea. Too much playing in the kitchen.Overall experience sucked . Will not go back. Will make a call to owner in Quitman. Too bad. Was closer to home.

I was hungry for some catfish one day. So i looked on my gps and found this place. Red the reviews and decided to give it a try. Its some of the best, if not the best catfish iv ever eaten. Along with all the sides that go along with it. Even better its a buffet. It’s a tad bit on the expensive side. More than im used to paying. Living in cabot ill be sure I make the effort to come here once or twice a month. It’s worth the drive. iv put it on my 10 favorite places to eat at list.
