My wife and I came here with a reservation for the omakase. The experience was really great and fun. The staff was friendly and informative with the menu and ingredients. Our chef was Steven, and our server was Joshua. We ordered a bottle of sake to drink during the omakase, which went great with everything. Each course the chef served was amazing and delicious. There was not one that we did not like. Even the fish-to-rice ratio was spot on. We even ordered extra at the end of the course. The omakase is pricey, but definitely worth it. We have done quality sushi at the fish markets in Japan, and this was at Japan’s quality level. We would definitely come back and do an omakase again.

My first Omakase and oh my goodness it was a great experience. They encourage you to eat with your hands so I didn’t take very many photos.. when you first walk in, it’s a little chilly but that’s because they meet to maintain the temperature inside for the fish.

Rice was a bit bad. Rice was cooked too soft a while ago so was too broken. A little too much vinegar. Fish was fantastic, flavor combos were solid.

This was my first Omakase experience and it was amazing! Every piece was created with a carefully crafted palette in mind. The executive chef really dedicates his time to his work and you can tell by the menu list, quality of food, and the team he brought together. Everything was delicious and the wine/beer/sake list paired well with the meal. I would eat here again!

This isn’t my first omakase experience, so maybe this colored my expectations a bit. As a michelin bib gourmand restaurant, there’s a certain level of hospitality that I think is the minimum– while the waitstaff was great, the setup with the sushi chefs left much to be desired. We were basically served by 1 chef who didn’t take the time to converse with us as we was busy chatting with 2 other guests the entire time. I don’t expect to make friends with the chef, but based on other experiences the sushi chefs usually do check in/offer small tips/greetings as they serve.

Considering the hype I expected an elevated experience. Sushi was ok with subtle understated flavors if flavored at all. Service was attentive and constant. Underwhelming at best

Wanted to share the professionalism of this business. We had a reservation which we were looking forward to for weeks, but a family emergency forced us to cancel last minute. The restaurant called and I explained that that we would be missing due to an emergency and didn’t elaborate. I acknowledged that we would be paying a rather hefty cancellation fee – which is understandable given the omakase experience. Well, they were very gracious and never charged us that fee. Thank you for your kindness, we will definitely book again.

Amazing omakse! Found this place on a website suggesting omakase restaurants around San Diego while planning a trip. They had 3 different seating times to choose from. Serving staff was very attentive and friendly. Restaurant was really clean and they were sanitizing between seating for a covid precaution. The price was on the higher end, but definitely worth it. After you finish the 18 course omakase, you can order additional pieces. They also offer several sakes and a sake tasting.

great place for a relaxing meal — good ambiance (simple, clean, and the chef is up close right in front of you). they are very creative with the sauces/oil/salt/etc. on each piece. i enjoyed all the “pairings”. i tried the 30-minute omakase, which came with 12 items. the food was great — fresh fish, great presentation, creative flavors, but i found it a bit overpriced since i expected more rare fish items.

Great omakase experience. Highlights were the sea perch, black code, uni, and o toro. This restaurant only has bar seating and will accommodate 12 people at a time. Our chef was very personable and made the dining experience enjoyable. Other omakase’s I have been to felt rather stuffy and formal. This one was very relaxed. You could certainly dress up, but was not required.
