Went to the Highland how to celebrate the anniversary for my sister and her husband. They were married 50 years. We also had her two children there who were arguing at the time. John, our waiter comes to our table, and he could sense the tension in the air. He was so good, he says well whatever it is you got going on here leave it at home. We’re here to have fun and honestly, I change the whole mood for the night. He made such a huge difference. Even today as I write this which is Saturday, May 6, 2023, the day after we were there. We were saying how much we enjoyed the night. How much fun it was in heartwarming it was for the family to be together. And John, he made a difference. We would definitely go back to the Highland house. They hire people like. John. Since I’m here, let me say something about the food. At their takeout deli, in front of the restaurant, I got some tabouli. I am of Lebanese dissent. My grandma used to make tabouli. REAL Lebanese tabouli. For my taste it needed a little bit more lemon , but nonetheless, it was delicious. And when you order a meal for two dollars you get a Greek salad and let me tell you, it is a big Greek salad. It is so big that after the salad I hardly had room for the meal. Good food for a good value. Oh, one more thing. They allowed us to bring our special 50th wedding anniversary cake. John cut it for us at the table. They didn’t charge for it. We really appreciated it. Their thoughtfulnesses was particularly kind.

Such an enjoyable and wonderful dining experience tonight. Our server, Lesley was incredible! So genuine, warm, personable, and conscientious. All the best traits for impeccable service. The owner, Gus sat with us and chatted for a few moments. So nice to see a devoted owner with passion for his business. My all time favorite is the Apple Orchard Salad. Love it…. Overall seems like a well oiled establishment. We had a party of 9 and only waited 25 minutes to be seated on a Saturday night around 7pm. Our waitress was friendly, quick, and efficient. Food tasted great and came at a reasonable amount of time. Draft menu was good. Bathrooms were clean. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a restaurant with larger parties. I ordered the chicken alfredo that came with a salad.

Hot take: the breadsticks or overhyped. They’re hard and chewy, and if I’m speaking my truth, Olive Garden has better. Got the chicken sandwhich (pictures) was ehhhhh. Fries though, were gas. Server was nice but nothin super exceptional.

We dine here frequently. The service is always excellent and food is consistently good. The menu is diverse with something for everyone. The lake perch are as good as they get and the planked whitefish is really good. I’m working my way through the menu. So far, everything is wonderful, although the roasted cauliflower steak was not to my taste, but others love it.
