We got a large side order of fried fish($10) and a side of shrimp($18) Fast friendly service, very fresh fish, fried in front of you, HUGE servings. My only two issues is that the batter doesn’t have any flavor, would greatly benefit from some salt, pepper and paprika. And secondly they only have prepackaged tartar sauce which was terrible.

I’m often on the road and always on the look-out for a genuine great hole-in-the-wall like Higson’s seafood. It’s strictly a seafood market and TAKE-OUT establishment. They dip and fry up a perfectly cooked choice of your favorite seafood from their simple and straightforward selections. Fish & Chips, Calamari, scallops, smelt, shrimp, Lobster rolls, clam strips etc. They do one thing and they do it well.

Drove close to an hour to pick up an item from them that not many places carry. The guy who waited on me was very pleasant and accommodating. They were just setting up for the day. Fresh fish display looked very appealing. Everything is cooked right in front of you. Next time I travel there I will be sure to get an order of seafood.

Greasy fish and chips always recooked so it being rubbery a good chance if you don’t get there early ,clam cakes gooey inside had to go in to get another batch this place used to do better. I go to pub 99 now more expensive but it’s better for you used to eat here once a week now it’s more like once a month and that’s if this place needs to do better

Had a fantastic fried fish sandwich. I only wish they had seating inside or at least a bunch outside so you could eat it fresh I’m not a fan of to go food. I want to eat it at its best which is right when they hand it to you!

NO I do not recommend. This happened quite a while ago but was so terrible I have to comment. I was having a graduation party and ordered prepared clam boil for 80 people. The morning of the party I arrived at Higsons and a worker loaded several crates into my trunk. At home when I opened the crates what I found was nothing had been prepared. Bags of sausages, sandy clams and dirty unpeeled potatoes. They were kind enough to throw the muslin bags on top of everything. When I called the store to ask what the heck was up with this… they hung up on me. I had to call family members over to help peel the potatoes and prepare the bags. Forget properly soaking the clams. It was a disaster! A very bizarre and very bad experience.

Incredibly fresh and abundant seafood to choose from. Popular is their fried seafood plates packed so come early. I treat myself to a lobster on occasion. friendly service and smiles behind the masks. Stop in and try something like a Fish & Chip plate!
