Just got back from my first visit and I was impressed. I’m not an expert on Indian food but I know that it was enjoyable and delicious. Today was the first day they did a buffet and it was great. I would highly recommend trying this place. The dinner buffet was on $11.95 which is a great deal to me. The owner stopped by and talked to us about her plans and that she cooks her meals the same way she cooks at home. One of her plans is to maybe start selling some dishes with saffron. However, if saffron is used then it should be reasonable to expect a single plate to run $40 since saffron is worth its weight in gold. I look forward to seeing her business grow.

Good, spicy Nepalese food in Wyoming? This was a surprising and enjoyable find. Lots of chicken but also vegetarian and vegan options. The manager even brought us naan without butter. Since food is made fresh, the buffet did run low, but it was just a matter of waiting a few minutes.

I love this place! They just started up not too long ago, I was a bit suspicious at first with the Subway-type serving, but the food is spot on! I had the chicken-ticka-masala, the spicy pork and the saag paneer. Very good, very authentic. I was afraid that they would make the masala too creamy, but it was great! The owner/chef came out and talked to us for a few minutes. She was very cordial. If you ever have a Nepali/Indian food craving, I would recommend this place. Sure it’s not fancy-looking, but that’s the case with most any young restaurant.

This place is AWESOME! Just ate there for the first time today. A friend had recommended it to me. I had the Chicken Korma, a piece of Naan and the Chicken MoMos. The Korma was full of flavor and had just the right amount of spice to it. I love Naan and the Naan at the Himalayan Cafe is by far some of the best I’ve had. If you want a great dish try the Chicken MoMos though because they were hands down the best Indian dumpling I have ever had! I have been to Indian restaurants all over Denver and Fort Collins and this place is easily one of the best and without the drive it’s a no brainer! We are super lucky to have this place in Cheyenne!

We had the buffet, all the dishes were watered down instead of creamy and they lacked flavor, wished they served fresh tomatoes, chutney and yogurt – best way to eat authentic Indian curry dishes, also they didn’t have tandori or korma dishes. Good food if you have never had authentic Indian curry .

Lucky to taste the authentic and delicious Indian food of the Himalayan Cafe before it’s grand opening on Tuesday, June 14, 2016. We were there for takeout: samosas, basmati rice, buttery naan, chicken tikka masala, chicken vindaloo and saag paneer, among many more dishes ready to go. The food was so flavorful — it’s like eating homemade from the owner’s kitchen. She and her dedicated family were welcoming and helpful. You can also sit down to enjoy the food. Highly recommend!

I thought the food was very fresh and authentic tasting. We had the chicken vindaloo, the chicken tika marsala and the spinach and cheese paneer. We also had an order of chicken momos for an appetizer, fresh naan and some Indian donut holes for dessert. Everything was fresh, tasteful and filling. I am also very impressed with the customer service. From the server to the kitchen helper to the chef/owner, everyone was friendly, informative, smiling and was concerned for the experience of the guests. I do wish there was a bit more on the menu, like maybe lamb or fish, but that may come in time. While I did like the food, I would have preferred a bit more spice, but I am a glutton for spicy punishment. Perhaps that is an option that I just didn’t ask about.

—– !!!! -> 1-2017 update <- !!!! Due to a family illness, the restaurant is CLOSED -------, Best Himalayan food I've ever had; hands down. Food was delicious, tasty and flavorsome. I could taste the fragrant spices in every bite. If you come, try the hot chai tea and chicken Tikka Marsala. Restaurant has been open for 2 months as of 8-2016.

Tried the buffet and every dish was watery. The naan bread wasn’t even fully cooked. The Chicken Tiki Masala has been something other than chicken Tiki Masala both times I’ve been there. The spicy pork was tough. The cucumber salad was passable but watered down and not flavorful. Also we went there when it was 45 degrees outside and it was freezing inside the restaurant. Friendly staff but will not be going back.
