Ate here for dinner with the family. The food is terrific across the board. The Samosas are fresh and well made, the lamb curry was super tender and flavorful, and the Tikka Masala was a great balance of savory and rich goodness. The service staff was friendly, but on a Saturday night they were clearly short staffed with two people doing all serving and bussing with indoor and outdoor seating areas, which made the meal a bit slow. That said, it was worth the wait.

Thoroughly impressed! Incredible depth of flavors, high spicy level options, and perfect preparation across all dishes. Himalaya demonstrates a mastery over the textures – the pastry shell of the samosas were crispy on the outside and soft/doughy on the inside, and the potatoes in the vindaloo were delightfully soft, which is impressive considering how long it can take to get them that way. Great service and value as well. I just can’t pick out anything I didn’t like about Himalaya. This is going to be our new regular spot!

Awesome food!! Probably the best food I ever had in Virginia. We went there in a group. We tried chicken biryani, Chicken Momo, and samosa. Chicken biryani and samosa was perfect! There is some room for improvement in momo, but still it was good. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very cozy. Service was great. I will definitely go back if I ever get a chance.

We were seated, we had to do our menu selection and payment on line. The only times we saw our waitress was greeting us and to serve dinner. It would have been nice to have better service such as refilling our beverages or offering to go boxes. I noticed that same lack of service to another diner. Food was good, service sucked.

We would not return. It seemed something may have been going on With the staff lots of discussion’s happening. No real greeting when we arrived and nobody in the restaurant for customers. (A sign) We were told to scan and look on-line to order. We found this odd and asked her to take our order verbally. The street noodles and chili chicken were very salty and not much else for flavor.they had no white rice ( a staple of Indian cuisine) we had to have brown. We ordered mild spice level to be safe, but expected some chili heat or flavoring. We can cook it at home a lot better. Our nan and Dahl makhani we’re good. We had high hopes for the Nepali food and it was disappointing. Mono’s yak and chicken were just ok. Bathrooms could be cleaner and young boy (staffs) playing on his video games laying down at table around the corner was not professional.

Spent about an hour waiting for our food. Took that long to get our black tea because the person completely forgot about it. At that point, we didn’t even get the naan yet. Prior to arriving, the only people at the restaurant was a group of about 5.

I love the lunch buffet here. This is my go to lunch spot for lunch whenever I come to Charlottesville. The wait staff David, Murtaza and Moon always greet you with a smile and are very kind and helpful. The food is delicious with different dishes in the menu for different days of the week. Chicken curry on Wednesday, chilli fish on Monday etc.. Definitely recommend!!
