Edit: I revisited this restaurant after 5 years and it seems far better now. Their Oh Maiitake burger, spicy chik’n burger and the burger with tempeh bacon (not sure I remember the name) are quite solid. Although, it is still somewhat expensive but definitely a lot more palatable now.

The food was good and I would’ve given 4 stars but the place itself is horrible and in need of a complete renovation. I didn’t feel comfortable eating there. The seats were torn up and stained. The owner should be ashamed. There’s nothing like having good food in a nice space.

The food is great, vegan fast food. It isn’t very healthy, so don’t expect weight loss if you go frequently. If the seating was better, the atmosphere would get a 5 star rating from me but I’ve been patronizing this restaurant for at least 10 years and they have the same seats. It shows! Their seats are torn as if Edward Scissorhands stumbled his way to the counter and back out the door. They have a great new sign, but their dine in customers have to sit on torn vinyl seats. Insert eye roll. Now, back to the food. The menu has been consistent over time, but the output is less “let’s stand out as a vegan go-to spot” and more, “let’s dress up Morningstar burgers, etc)”. Nevertheless, for vegan fast food, this is worth a try.

I have been a huge fan of hip city veg for going on near 10 years now, I’ve put my family and friends on to their food and they are big fans now too! I think most of their food is solid, but I like most, I have my faves. They’ve recently changed their menu and I was nervous but figured I would try the new items. I was not expecting for so much to be removed from the menu, I HATE when restaurants get rid of items. Usually they are not replaced with anything that can live up to the legacy.

They have a salad there called the upon salad. The noodles are made from wheat and the food is gluten free. They got these chips that will knock your socks off. Whew!!!!!

I asked for just ranch no bleu cheese on the new buffalo sandwich and they put bleu cheese on it. Didn’t realize til I got in the car and checked my order. Due to the restaurant closing right after I order I was not able to enjoy my food . It would be nice if management would rectify this matter so I can give a true review.
