HIDDEN GEM! The owner Kenny went above and beyond to make our experience amazing while on Scott’s Pizza Tour. He even opened up early for us. I love the location! The pizza was off the chart! I love the Roman style. You can tell how much is put into crafting such a wonderful flavor profile. And Ming was just a delight pouring his love into making the perfect pies.

I am a little tired after my day but I don’t want to lazily remark Hoek. Firstly, attentive service provided by a waiting staff who shared responsibility amongst themselves, that is always pleasant to observe. The restaurant is inviting. I recommend diversifying the musical playlist music than just a single artist all evening. It was one artist my entire stay. Finally the pizza! The tomato, the dough, and the sauce sang together beautifully. With a salty soppressata, you’re getting a great taste of the mellow creamy cheese, and the bright & sweet tomato. Their dough was a tad thin in some areas, it was tasty dough but just lost its integrity sometimes. Overall impressive bites of pizza.

Great food. Great service. The nicest place to visit! I’ve been here a few times and each time has been great. The pizzas-I’m a purist when it comes to pizza- are fantastic. While we only order the margarita, I believe all the other choices are perfect. The salads add to the greatness. And one person in our group had a meatball sandwich which he said was the most satisfying. The staff here are so kind and attentive. On a recent night a huge group of us showed up and they went all out for us. Love this place.

They are hands down the best in the business for having absolutely delicious food, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere, and running incredible events. My husband and I had no idea how lucky we would become to be working with Hoek for our wedding reception.

My fiancé and I live in Carroll Gardens and frequent the Red Hook Pier. We’ve walked by Hoek a handful of times but never actually dined there until last night. After an exhausting day in the heat running errands in the city, we decided to finally have dinner at Hoek. I intended it to be a quick pizza dinner but we ended up staying longer than expected. The entire staff was literally so friendly and genuine. They made us feel so welcome and really went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. I did not catch her name, but the girl with pink eyebrows was exuberant and her energy was vivacious and contagious. I hope she will be working next time I come for dinner! Katia and Destiny went above and beyond in all aspects throughout the evening. Food was outstanding. We cannot wait to be back!

We Absolutely had a phenomenal time the food was great. The atmosphere was perfect definitely a great experience for a stressful day. Brick rather stone oven hits the target taste. This place needs more staff. Service was seldom and waiters were clearly overwhelmed. Our Pizza came out roughly cut in 4 slices (it should be 8) and one was shaped like a disfigured oval and half soggy. It was clearly rushed. Ownership needs to decide if they’re not willing to pay more in order to entice more staff to put less tables out during busy times, and allow reservations for smaller parties so people don’t have to wait. The Pizza is normally very good and they benefit from a great view
