Our three Pit Masters smoke our meats low and slow daily to create juicy tender meat under a tasty layer of bark our customers howl for! However, we can run out of our smoked meats from time to time. These are prepared in three batches daily at 11:05am, 2:00pm and 4:30pm. These are the best times to guarantee the meat you came for! Meat reservations are encouraged.

It’s one of the best BBQ places around. I stop by here every time I go through Placerville. The Angry Pit Master is my favorite sandwich. You better bring your appetite and napkins. All of the sides are great. My two favorites are the green beans and sweet-n-tart Cole slaw.

I hadn’t been here since before COVID, but my buddy from ATL was out and wanted some BBQ. We got the 2-person family meal, and everything was great. We had brisket, ribs, hot links, mashed potatoes, Mac cheese, cornbread, and beans. Service was exemplary and both the inside and outside seating was nice. I will be coming back more often now.

Hog Wild BBQ was what you’d expect with a BBQ meal. The food was delicious, big portions, flavourful. You order/ pay at the counter when you go in, you get the drinks yourself, seat yourself, and they bring you the food on a tray, each individual order. Service was good. Atmosphere was great for your traditional BBQ.

First time coming here with my family. It was delicious! We got a sampler plate for 4. My son who is almost 7 is a very picky eater and he tried the pulled pork, baby back ribs, and brisket and he loved all 3! He said it was the best meat on the earth! Also the staff were friendly and helpful as well.

The pulled pork sandwich was really good. The toasted bun was a nice touch. The pickles were good too. Pinto beans were decent and the green beans were really good. Order at the counter and they bring you the food. Friendly staff, we sat on the patio and they came out to check on us partway through our meal. I will return.

Best BBQ we’ve had outside of the south. Brisket and beef sausage were as good as any in Texas. My wife, who is from the Mississippi Delta and is VERY picky about BBQ, said that the ribs were excellent. Well done guys. Great, friendly service in a very cool, old California town.

Hands down the best barbecue I’ve ever had in California let alone Texas or the South. The jalapeno cheddar sausage was succulent juicy full of flavor and not overly spicy. The pulled pork was fall apart delicious moist and flavorful. The macaroni and cheese was homemade extremely rich and satisfying. Probably the most comfort food item I had. The potato salad was better than average and the role was freshly made.

Overall my experience here was very good. The portions are okay but delicious. Don’t come here while starving but it makes for a great meal. It is a bit expensive for what you get but most good BBQ is these days. Just know that you probably won’t get out of here for less than $25/person
