The lau lau were the beat I’ve had on Oahu, and the poke was very good. Owner is super friendly. He very obviously just makes up whatever price he thinks you’ll pay but… honestly doesn’t bother me. Hard working service industry folks deserve more anyway.

Bring cash or get it from the most unofficial looking ATM on Earth in the nearby convenience store, because cards are no good here. The food is phenomenal. $35 for lau lau, pastele, lomi lomi salmon, and kalua pork over rice, with a side of spicy ahi poke. I gave him $40 because he was cool and I was hungry, so he gave me a bottle of water and half of a pineapple. This (hola hola) stop turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip

My first fresh coconut! The owner is quite a character. My friend is a local and talked him down to $8 instead of $10. It was a fun experience 🙂

Highly recommend this place. It’s well worth the drive. Delicious food for fair prices. We loved it and will come back here for sure!!

I asked for a pasteles plate, but the owner said he was just going to give me everything which consisted of laulau, pasteles, lomi lomi salmon, kalua pork, and poke with rice. I don’t really like lomi lomi salmon but he just started dumping everything on and then charged $30. Not what I wanted and way more than I wanted to spend but honestly not bad value for the amount of food. He definitely assumed I was a tourist so maybe if you’re local or look local you won’t be treated this way. He was very friendly but I’d rather go somewhere I can just order what I want and know what price I’m going to pay.

scam! Don’t eat here. We paid $40 for a disgusting plate of food. The pastels were not Puerto Rican and tasted horrible. We were scammed and I don’t recommend this to anyone. Even the locals know it as a scam.

Amazing food! Best lau lau! Wish he was open more because I would of gone every day on our trip! Wish prices were posted! As it seems kinda high that we paid $35 for 1 plate when down the road at the poi factory we paid that for triple the food. Lived supporting the local though!

Like other tourist we were also taken advantage of at this food truck. My boyfriend pulled over because he never heard of Lau lau and wanted to try it. I was looking at the other food trucks while the guy was serving him. When I returned the guy had piled on top of the lau lau another fish that was wrapped in tin foil (don’t know what it was) and poke, than announced the meal was $25. My boyfriend said the lau lau was good but the rest was terrible; the poke varied between frozen cold to luke warm (we only had a couple pieces in fear of getting food poisoning); I had a bite of everything and that was enough for me. We ended up throwing out most of the meal and wasting our money.

Ask for a combo plate. He will give you enough food for 3 people. It’s basically a plate of almost everything he offers. Everything tasted wonderful!!
