I had lunch at Home Taste today and it was phenomenal. Seating is limited but there were still plenty of seats open. There are only a few people working but everything seemed to move extremely fast. I ordered the Noodles mixed with chopped beef lunch special. It came with two chicken fingers, egg roll, and egg drop soup. Extremely cheap, only $10.98. The noodles are hand pulled in house and they are so tender. The appetizers were really good too, especially the egg drop soup. I absolutely recommend this place. Make sure you get something that comes with the hand pulled noodles. I will definitely order from here again!

My expectations of Home Taste were high. I remember when they first opened that they were one of the most anticipated new restaurants in Boston magazine that year. That type of buzz with the promise of authentic homemade traditional fare for a tiny Chinese restaurant awash in a sea of Chinese restaurants only added to the expectations. But if nothing else, Home Taste will just add more fuel to the ever-present traditional versus “American” Chinese food debate: Is food better just because it’s considered authentic?

A must try on Moody street! The Mai Tais are absolutely delicious. We tried a bunch of items but our favorite were the beef teriyaki, spicy fish, and crab Rangoon. Bar staff was really friendly and over all a great experience. We will absolutely be back, it is nice to have a Chinese restaurant with a fun bar! Three big tvs at the bar for sports!

Good price and in budget. It is a small restaurant but those dishes are really good!

We get takeout from here all the time. A perennial winner. Our favorite dishes: wood ear mushrooms, pork and leek dumplings, noodles with spicy oil, chicken with cabbage, Xinjiang Saute Spicy Chicken. Thank you Home Taste!!

Great Chinese food, had a lot of traditional menu items not typical found like 酸菜牛肉面 and 红烧牛肉面—definitely recommend. We also got a dry pot on the side and it was very tasty as well. Overall not too expensive, and it was a great experience, owner and waitress were super friendly.

This is probably the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had in Boston.

I’m not a fan. I was highly disappointed as someone who LOVES noodles and soups. I especially love Pad thai but this was so dry yet oily and stuck together so bad. It was ordered for take out and open immediately when home. Was still nice and warm. So I am surprised at how not so good it was. Then again it was first time eating from this restaurant so I will not trying it again.

Our cousins (one Chinese national, one fluent in Chinese, a 3 year old and a 5 year old) were in town and wanted to take us out for dinner. They loved the meal declaring, “This is proof that you can now get authentic Chinese food in America!” The mala and the hot oil cooked noodles were especially great. The space is spartan but who cares because service was fast and food delicious.

Pretty authentic food. Not your average take out Chinese. The hand pulled noodles were very flavorful. Even their hot and sour soup was peppery and much better than normal take out fare.
