The name says it all. This a very nice easy going local restaurant. The lady serving us very nice and helpful. The food is not Gourmet or farm to table. But warm hearty cooked well. The prices are very reasonable. So if you want a nice hearty meal stop in and relax.

Exactly what you’d expect from a small diner/cafe with “Hometown” in its name, but slightly better. Simple uncomplicated food and friendly service. I arrived in the afternoon and there was only one waitress, but she capably handled all orders and seemed knowledgeable about the food. I had a light breakfast, and I was at first a little concerned because it was delivered so quickly, but everything was well prepared and the bacon was just right. (The fireplace repair-work was a little distracting, but I doubt if that happens often.)

My husband ordered a steak the cook defrosted it in the microwave then tried to cook it. The steak was supposed to be rare it was overcooked and very tough, I ordered a grilled cheese they didn’t cook it thoroughly the cheese wasn’t even melted. Ordered breakfast, sausage gravy was terrible tasted like flour. Would be a great restaurant if they got a new cook .. one that knows how to cook!
