Came here today for Sunday dim sum. The place took over New Fortune but the look and layout is still pretty much the same. When sat at our table, I noticed how stained and dirty the chairs cloths were!

My aunt was in town, so we went to dimsum at Hong Kong Pearl Chinese Restaurant, which opened its doors in early July in the former New Fortune Chinese Restaurant in the Walnut Hill Shopping Center. The staff were friendly. The service was good. If we didn’t see something we liked, we asked staff for it.

Formerly New Fortune dim sum and Chinese restaurant, this is under new ownership. We came for lunch on a Thursday and the dim sum was fresh and there was many people dining but plenty of tables since it’s the size of a banquet hall. Dim Sum carts were being pushed around and you can order what you don’t see on the carts. Excellent food!

Much improved compared to New Fortune! Similar layout inside with minimal improvements visually, but the weekend dim sum is much better now. The banquet hall was packed each time I’ve gone and food was fresh and good, especially for the area. I’ve also gone during dinner time on a weekend to try it out and it’s also quite good. Great portions and good price! Hoping everything continues being good so my family doesn’t haven’t to travel to Rockville or Wheaton for decent Chinese food each time!

Took my elderly mother here because she loves her some dim sum. Won’t happen again. Staff was rude af to her, food was way below average and the new ownership is awful. I’d give 0 stars if I could. Wait staff almost got dealt with. Awful place
