Genereral tso chicken is more of flour no or little chicken inside. It taste old. I’m the second person to complain. I called the restaurant, she said I’m the first one to complaint about it , That’s not true. I love chinese food and I know a good food.

What a disappointment – I had gone here for years and this place couldn’t miss a beat – the last few times I went, were an absolute disappointment – crab Rangoon should not taste sour and certain dishes that I used to love are now over cooked and rushed… at least it seems this way – everything used to taste fresh. Has to be change of cooks – don’t see same staff and it tastes different than it used too.

I have been a long time customer of this restaurant (10+ years). Hands down best Chinese food in Tampa. Make sure you don’t confuse it with another Chinese spot called Hong Kong. This place is in the Publix plaza on Waters. Their eggrolls are absolutely delicious. A must try!! Consistently great service.

The Chinese food is very good at Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant 7026 West Waters Avenue Tampa Florida in Town & Country next to the Publix supermarket. It’s my second favorite place to come for Chinese food the prices are reasonable this service is fast and the people are very friendly. My favorite Chinese place is China Garden in the Carrollwood Village shopping center off of Dale Mabry Boulevard. But whenever I’m down at this Publix and I feel like Chinese I come to the Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant in Town and Country.

This is one of the few places in the area with an actual Chinese dish. Go here and get the Chow mei fun, my favorite is the Singapore version. *Warning the Singapore version is the spicey version with shrimp, chicken, and pork* Chow mei fun is a delicious street food from Singapore actually known there as Xing Zhou Mi Fen. Note: Calling it Singapore noodles won’t gain you any friends especially if they originate from the region. Hong Kong Restaurant’s version is delicious. They of course have your standard Americanized Chinese food which is also very good. However give real Chinese food a shot. You won’t regret it and it’s cheaper then going to Singapore. One last thing, prices on the regular menu may seem average. However, you get at least three decent servings of food per order making Hong Kong Restaurant, what I consider, a great bargain.

This was just odd all the way around. We’re staying in a hotel and wanted Chinese food. When we went to pick up the food, the lady inside put our food in a “box” in the door to pass it to us. No going inside, because apparently they are Covid scared still. When we got back to our room and opened the bag with the food, we were surprised!! No soy sauce, no duck sauce, no condiments whatsoever!! The egg drop soup was ok. The sweet and sour chicken was bland, the fried rice tasted burnt? and the egg roll was super greasy!! Our first experience with Chinese food in Tampa wasn’t good at all. We won’t order from here again. Save your money and try someplace else…maybe the Panda Express across the street? We threw most of the food out.
